Modders Inc. has put together a guide to building your own storage server and saving a little money in the process.
First of all, the scope of the project: A storage array using eight 4tb Hard Drives, which would be spread out on to RAID 5 for redundancy. Sounds easier said than done right? By having eight drives in a RAID 5 array we would get a storage capacity of approximately 28TB, which in my opinion would be enough to hold around 5 years of data.
