Build request

Picked up the combo as well as HAF 912, H212+, an optical, Corsair Vengeance (the blue kind) and a cheap wireless USB for now.

What do you guys think?

Total right now is standing at about 870, I believe.

Waiting on GPU to come in Thursday so I can boot it up.

I'm always wary of Wireless USB but maybe I'm a little too old school on that. Do wireless USB adapters still hit the CPU pretty hard? That's why I always went with internal cards or wired on my rigs.

That combo is great btw, wish I had a Microcenter nearby SO BAD!

Oho... yeah, I'll report back with some findings if I can.

Dang... I have almost everything wired up and ready to go except for my GPU, which should come in tomorrow. The wait is excruciating.

Also, what would be a good monitor? 23", IPS not needed, and preferably LG or Samsung.

I'm swamped at work so I can't give a great recommendation right now. The monitor subforum might be able to provide more timely help.

I'm hitting 89°C on my CPU. Is this okay? I have the H212+ installed.
That's not good. Reseat the HSF

Could cable management have something to do with it? It's a total mess in there right now.

Possibly but shouldn't have that huge of an effect unless you have a bunch of cables covering the air intake or the HSF

So, my core 1 is about ten degrees higher than my lowest temperature core. Is this normal?

Also, I need a cheap DVI cable.

From what I can tell, thats normal. But post that question over in the CPU subforum and see what responses you get.

As for the DVI cable, search Newegg.

It seems that the cheapest DVI cable is around 10 USD... I was hoping it'd be much lower, but I guess I'll have to bite and return the one I got from Best Buy for 27 dollars.

You could also try monoprice.com as well. Though do note that they've had some security issues in the past.

I'd second a vote for monoprice. Been using them for years and never had a problem. Very inexpensive, awesome quality, and a ton of selection. I love being able to buy a 100 foot ethernet cable for less than $10. The hardest part is choosing which color.
