Hey guys, I'm in the process of building my new pc but am having a bit of a difficult time with a few items.

I have a HAF 912 case and a p67 pro mobo, with the backplate for the ports that Asus gave me, the mobo does not line up with the spacers, however when I remove the port backplate, they do line up.
Do I need the backplate for the ports then?
 
Can you show us a pic of the back of the case without the backplate in place?

I ask because normally, you should be able to "manipulate" the ports to fit the backplate. But outside of another opening for dust to enter easily, there's really no harm in not having the backplate in place.
 
Thanks, I was able to get it to fit, I guess I was being too careful as I didn't want to break anything.

But now another dumb question, when installing RAM, should the little 'cap' on the DIMM slots snap back into place after seating the RAM? I'm having difficulty and again, am trying not to be heavy handed.
 
Yes, it should "snap" back.

Unfortunately, you may have to be a little ham-fisted with some sticks of RAM. Just try not to slam them (too hard) into place. ;)
 
The asus p67pro mobo has an 8pin connector for atx power, I can not find the corresponding connector on my cm 800w silent pro gold. I have two 4 pin connectors but they dont match up shapes and then a 6 plus 2 connector but I'm pretty sure that one is a pci-e connector. Any ideas?
 
The 4+4 does not fit (the second 4 at least, one half does).
It came on and posted, went to the screen where it identified the cpu, ram, and hd- all were correct.
However, I turned the pc off at that point to clean up my workstation, put the sides of the case on, and came back and now its saying "no hd found" and won't do anything else.
 
Actually, I answered my own question! Turns out the sata end on the dvd-drive wasnt all the way in, stupid me.

It seems to be working now!

One final question: when I turn my pc on, it turns itself off after a second or two, then there is nothing for about 2 seconds, then it turns itself on and works properly. No heat issues, no other issues I can discern, and it doesnt seem to be affecting anything.
Should I worry?
 
Man didn't think Intel still had that double boot issue with the new chipsets. Anyway, usually a BIOs update clears up that issue. If not, it's not something to worry about exactly since it's just a mere annoyance.
 
I have the P67 PRO board, and I have the dual boot issue as well. Still figuring out a work-around for it. Seems to have something to do with jumpers, and not the BIOs.
