Ok, so...my mom (sigh) is 79...and a WoW addict. :) Yes, it's true. Anyway im sure there are many thread around here stating the same...Cata is coming out, need something better.
She is still on an old nforce board with a ti4600..lol

She is on a budget...like 550.00-600.00 max. Was going to order a inspiron 580 from dell for 550.00 , with a geforce 310 ( rather than integrated graphix) and a i3 CPU. Untill I asked her to wait a day before ordering so I could see if you combo deal experts :) could work me something to build her. Unless you all think cost wise she would get by with the dell...( yuck) So here goes...

Oh yeah...Will be Buying from NEWEGG.....

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
World of Warcraft, web browsing.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
550-600 before tax and shipping

3) Where do you live?
Sacramento, Cal

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.

(Case..I will purch this and Win 7 myself for her ) Still, if you find a great case deal..lemme know :)) PSU, HDD, Optical, Mobo, Cpu (i3 or i5 or??, memory, gpu. Will use stock cooling.

NOTE: If we must leave out the case...I can purch that for her myself...so that is not a deal breaker...but incl it maybe if it is in the combo deal...

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.

Just 1 pci-e card and ethernet..no wireless

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
No...will be purch Windows 7

Well most of the combo deals for October are gonna expire tomorrow. In addition, it usually takes a week for most of the next month's new combo deals to come up. So yeah, we can't find good combo deals just yet.

Nice. I will purchase Win 7 for her, and possibly the case...that will free up cash elsewhere...like...maybe 4gb memory instead of 2...and thx for always being such a great help btw :)
 
All my parts came in today...cool beans...ready to build. One thing I wanted to ask..since this is for my ma to play WoW ( lol, yes, its true) It certainly wont be overclocked. However, I realize a quad core can create some heat. Will the stock cooler be good enough for her ( albeit loud) or is there one you recommend? I would prefer to use the stock one unless its just really crap.
The cpu is the one right above, the am3 phenom II x4 925

The cooler master case I picked up is The CM 690 II. It say max height for cpu cooler is 177mm.
 
Ok sounds good. ( I was surprised when looking at it..Ive seen some new AMD heatsinks for the quad cores that have heatpipes...this one however, doesn't and is rather small. Very small, lol, but i'll trust it...
