1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
hd movie watching, music recording & producing

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included? $900-1000 before tax


3) Where do you live? New York City..we have a microcenter 20 min away

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.

case, mobo, cpu, psu, ram, video card(with hdmi), hd(1tb+ if possible) fans, sound card, wireless keyboard & mouse, dvd drive(blu-ray if possible)

Friend wants to get into recording and producing and wanted a new laptop...i figured a built rig would last longer and be better suited for him.

Can you narrow down when your friend is planning a build? The parts we recommend today probably won't be the same parts we recommend in November or December.
