2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
700 plus tax
3) Where do you live?
Toronto Canada
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, MOBO,Video card, hdd, case+power supply
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
none
6) Will you be overclocking?
none
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
22''
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
ASAP
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc.
SATA 6gb/s yes, but may not be within budget and raid would be nice but not necessary..
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
32 bit xp

So com'on and give me some options. This is really difficult as i am not sure to go AMD or intel. I was thinking a x4 (more cores the better in this application), 4gb ram (32 bit cant make use of 3gb correct). When looking at prices i find that i can get either a i5 with two core or a amd x4 955. Now i know that the i5 will be faster, but it's two extra cores for around the same price...PLUS cheaper mobo for the AMD which equals more money for video card. Ugh, i need a fine balance...

Motherboard i have no clue. Will a cheap Asus rock work or will i have issues with stability? Like i stated 6gb/s sata would be very nice as it should help shorten load times..
Intel wise, i know nothing about mobo or chipsets...help me out on that one =P

Hard drive, doesn't really matter too much BUT i am thinking if i can fit in just one 60gb solid state this can speed up things and have a secondary 1tb...i know that is not budget friendly BUT factor in that the secondary is NOT needed. ALSO, i have concerns that solid state HDD do not like AMD systems? Is this correct?

Video card, oh boy. The real question is what will perform better in CAD environment, a ATI FirePro V4800 or a ATI 6850? I have looked for reviews and found nothing to compare. I am going to ask this in the video card section.

Case/PSU - Antec Sonata 3...but will the 500 watt be enough juice?

Now i would prefer stores i can drive to and pick up the parts as this is needed ASAP and is for work, not personal. Online works too, just have to consider shipping i guess.
Thanks!

The leftover $200 should cover whatever GPU route you go with. Unfortunately, a SSD was not possible with your budget.
