Well my stupid roommate broke not only my headphones but he busted the jack on my audigy 2. Bills are needing to be paid and the CAL season is about to start. So which one is better?

Turtle Beach - Riviera Sound

or

Creative Labs - Sound Blaster Audigy SE

both are 30$ at my bestbuy. just need to know what one is better.

Thanks.

creative monopolizes everything and if you want to have full compatibility with games and such then get the creative one.. i have a turtle beach santa cruz and its compatible with jack shit even though it supposedly has EAX 2.0 functionality.

Yeah, I agree. As much as I dislike Creative, they do virtually have a monopoly thanks to EAX.

Non-Creative soundcards like Turtle Beach and X-Mystique do have some EAX support but it's usually an outdated version (like EAX 2.0 is the highest they go). Version 5.0 is the current version I believe.

Between those two options, I would choose neither, and stick with your onboard solution.. Just mho..

for $30 I would check out the FS/T section.. I sold my Audigy2 Platinum for $35 a while back.. I see the A2ZS go for $25-$30 all the time.
