I live close, so I can avoid the $26 in shipping and since I'm in education I don't have to pay sales tax since I will be using it for educational purposes as well. What do you guys think? Decent gaming rig?

spend another $100 and get a gtx 460, gts 250 is pretty weak by today's standards.

I Dont think thats worth the money.. If you want to pick & choose components your best off building yourself.

The PSU is crap. Go for a Corsair or Antec or Seasonic. Besides that, seems like an ok-ish gaming PC. It's the price that gets me though.

You can build a better PC for a little less than that prebuilt:
$200 - AMD Phenom II X6 1055T CPU
$80 - MSI 880GM-E43 AMD 880G mATX Motherboard
$162 - 2 x G.Skill F3-10600CL9D-4GBNT 2 x 2GB DDR3 1333 RAM
$145 - Sapphire 100283-3L Radeon HD 5770 1GB PCI-E Video Card
$75 - Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
$18 - LG GH22LS50 DVD Burner w/ Lightscribe Support
$30 - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus HSF for LGA 1366 and LGA 1156
$70 - Antec NEO ECO 620C 620W PSU
$50 - Cooler Master Elite 335 RC-335-KKN1-GP ATX Case
$100 - Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM
---
$930 plus tax and shipping

Key differences:
- Significantly better quality power supply
- Significantly faster hard drive
- Significantly faster video card
- Significantly better quality HSF
- Better cooling case
- Mobo with newer features.
