Well, I'm going to have to admit I was wrong in purchasing the game, even for $20. It's not fun at all. Well, at least not for me. I haven't uninstalled it, but I also haven't had the urge to play it in over a week. L4D2 and HCW2 has been much more entertaining to me. With Bastion and From Dust being released this week, I'll certainly be busy for a while with them as well.
Yes...same here. I DL it during the free week, then got it as part of the quakecon pack (it had a few things I wanted and it was bundled with the rage discount) so I fired it up, and thought "ill try the campain to get the hang of things". I had wanted to play a team vs game for a while, so this was fine. Made a character from the 5 parts availible, went into game. Soon after, quit.
It was just very very...flat. Maybw I shouldn't have skipped the "tutorial" but most of the time during the mission there wasn't very much indication of what you were supposed to be doing. The combat was pretty stupid with 4053230 generic machine guns that all felt the same. You could take way too much damage, and the enemies could too. But as well as this you have next to no ammo so firefights as poor as they were didn't last for very long. The gameplay just isn't fun, or good and it just doesn't have a personality, or a story, so no reason to press on through. I couldn't name one gun, or even the factions, theres nothing iconic or really intresting about it. The gameplay reminded me of the recent duke nukem... Just in deathmatch without the dialog or intresting weapons.
