Hey all,

Welcome back and you're not allowed to lurk!

To whose post are you referring?

Sorry APOLLO, I guess it wasn't very clear with both quotes up there was it? :D

I was thinking that the "lurking" comment appied more to me, since I've been doing a lot more of that lately than posting. By the time I get to most topics, all the helpful points and items have already been mentioned, so I basically just read through stuff and only post when I feel I can actually contribute something.

Sorry APOLLO, I guess it wasn't very clear with both quotes up there was it? :D
Nicely caustic. The posts quoted were contrary and it wasn't clear which you agreed or disagreed with because one cannot agree with contradicting statements. Thanks for clarifying though. I guessed correctly your position since it's quite evident from the preponderance of opposition to my views on this forum, the probability of agreement was vanishingly small. :D

anyway....so i have a mac book pro dual core 2.4 ghz. its been running core 6075 (R0, C61, C251) core unknown for 44 hours 16 mins and its at 76%. now its under the deadline for an ETA but im curious if this is normal or if something is wrong?

Also running a HP dual core with he smp client per the install instructions here and it has been running for ~20 hours and is at 7%.

Just wondering if these numbers are normal. Thanks guys.

Possibly....

What is the chip in the HP?

Quad or better is best for SMP. These sounds like lower clocked Dual core.

The Mac's performance seems slow, but as long as it can make the deadline, it's fine. As for the HP, what type of CPU is it and what speed is it running at? 7% in 20 hours sounds very slow, but if it's a really old machine then it's within the realm of possibility. Also, go into Task Manager and double-check that the Fahcore_a3.exe process is using around 100% of your CPU.

hp is a AMD dual core QL-64 clocked at 2.1. under task manager it shows both cpu's instances at 100% but under the processes menu it shows Fahcore_3 only using ~50% cpu

good catch, run away thunderbird thread. Killed it. Now Fah is getting all of it. thanks for getting back to me.
