Well, about four months ago, I spilled antifreeze on the northbridge of my A7N8X-Deluxe. Well, as I tried to clean things up, everything got worse.

Yesterday I had the bright idea to take an esd bag and fill it up in alcohol, and literally wash the board. I put it in the bag, sealed it, and shook it good.

The result? A much cleaner board.

I used to have corrupted video everywhere (AGP lines were poisoned) and now I have a clean screen.... but now I can't install an OS.

I get an inaccesible boot device error trying to install win2k, and an interrupt error on the ide's under knoppix.

Anybody have a clue?

I'm trying to buy a couple gallons of DI water to see if I can do a better job cleaning the board.

Holy hell!

I use knoppix (bypassing hda errors) and managed to nuke all the partitions on the drive. Now windows install seems to boot and format fine!!

I uh... just "tested" the board more thoroughly (read: played BF1942) and it checks out.

This board is back from the reaper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
