So I just bought the F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ (2x2GB DDR2-800 they have on newegg) and this is my first from scratch build. On default bios settings vista 32-bit just BSODs. So, first question, does anyone know of any problems with running this RAM on the GA-EP45-UD3R mobo? (based on the BSOD message i don't think this is the problem because the message says that its a problem with getting power to the RAM, i have a 630W PSU that is also new, just thought id ask though)If not, could someone help me with the bios tweaking to try and get it running?

Should work great. I run the same RAM on a UD3P.

Have you tried memtest for errors?

When does it BSOD? During bootup? Sometimes changing hardware will cause a BIOS reset, and when that happens it can change the power management setting (APM or ACPI). Windows doesn't like it if you have a different power management setting than the one that was set when you installed it.

thanks for all the replies guys, i went away for a bit so i wasnt able to test/reply...but my memtest came back with nothing wrong on either stick...i bumped those things you said and i got a new error code, 8e instead of 1a. anyone know what that one is?

Still BSODs on those settings, also tried at 667 :\...looking like my PSU isnt handling the charge very well

no other suggestions? i have the raidmax hybrid 2 modular 630W PSU if anyone knows that that PSU has problems running the 2x2GB or not...im not quite sure what else to do :\

Hmm, that is a pretty low quality PSU.

So far, you're only person I've ever seen have an issue with that exact G.Skill RAM set and that GA-EP45-UD3R mobo. And I've seen dozens of build with that exact RAM and mobo over in General Hardware. So it's not a compatibility issue AFAIK.

Rerun Memtest for at least three hours on each stick of RAM separately as well as test the RAM all together. Go for a full 24 hours if you want to be completely sure that the RAM is not a problem. If you start seeing errors, than your RAM is defective or you have incorrect settings for the RAM. Are you sure that the RAM voltage is set to 2.0V?

Oh and try a different PSU if you can.
