Bottom Mounting Power Supplies

Anyone know where I can find some bottom mounting power supplies? I need the fan to be on top.

I'd rather not buy a new power supply, but my case mounts the power supply at the bottom for some stupid reason. Is there an adapter clip somewhere I can purchase to mount the power supply "upside" down to fit the needs of my case. Thus, it sucks air down, from the case, and spits it out the side. Currently, I've had to put something under my case so my Power Supply has some room to suck up air. I won't have to put something underneath my case if I can find a way to mount the power supply the other way.

Please let me know. I will never buy a case that mounts the power supply in the bottom only ever again.

Can't you just rotate your power supply around.... I.E the PSU Fan faces the top. Most cases for bottom mounted psus are generally placed a bit above floor level, so it does allow for you point the psu fan downward if you chose to. Good Luck.

:p

turn it upside down. i know it might seem scary at first but it will work out in the end.

I guess you have two choices.

1) take a normal PSU and mount it so the fan faces upward. This could be done pretty easily by turning the mounting bracket around (if the case has a removable bracket) or drilling holes in the case to accomidate the PSU so the fan faces up.

2) cut a slot in the bottom of the case and put in a piece of mesh or a screen so the fan can suck fresh air from the bottom of the case.

I have a Lian-Li A05B and a Corsair 620W PSU. The PSU is mounted on the bottom of the case and the fan faces downward. There is about 1/2" of space. The PSU functions just fine.

My case has a piece of screen so the fan can suck fresh air from the bottom of the case. The problem is that my case is only 1/4" above the ground due to its small feet. I can't turn it upside down because the screw holes do not line up. Is there no adapter type bracket to make it work?

Drill bit = custom fan adapter.:D

What I have done many times to improve air flow at the bottom of my cases is to place them above the floor on blocks, bricks or my favourite; scrap tongue and groove hardwood flooring.......looks nice and gets the case off the floor to improve flow.

What case do you have? It sounds very very odd that the screw holes don't line up.

And no there isn't an adapter nor is there a PSU with the fan mounted on "top"

It's due to the mounting holes for the PSU on your case. I can mount my PSU both ways unlike yours, it's not a problem with all cases & definitely not a PSU problem.

You can drill 4 holes where you need them to make it much easier.

I remember Powertek had some power supplies that were specifically designed for placement on the bottom. I will see what I can do based on your suggestions. Thanks!

Turn the PSU upside down, its meant to be fitted that way.
It works great too, I'm using an Antec900 with one.
