Borderlands 4

I'm not sure what the key is for the keyboard.

FPS and controllers is something I have played and enjoyed on consoles (probably due to auto aim assists) but on PC is a hard no for me. Even third person games that I play work absolutely fine with keyboard and mouse.

This game is delivering the goods man. Almost level 30 now and slapping some vile victor. I also like the difference in scenery from lush grasslands to desert to now snowy mountains. Some of the collectibles are such a bitch to find.

I also finally spent time unlocking some safe houses. I got 2 assaults (one doubles up as an SMG as well), one SMG and one shotgun. Plus I finally understood what the powers for vex do and added some points in blood letting. For the bulk of the game I never pressed F (lol the class power) and finally I understand that pressing it gives me opportunity to heal as well due to bloodletting. Only took me to 60% campaign to realize that I needed to pay attention to mechanics of the game.

I still think this is best borderlands game I have played. The movement, freedom, gunplay, powers and general delivery is just very very good. I am having a real blast - way more than I thought I would. It’s a shame people dinged it a lot but if you can tune it to your system and live with some input lag (which I have adapted to now), it has a certain charm. It is still jarring to move from this to my COD rounds as the lag is so apparent but I am almost wondering that it is more game design than input lag at this point. I wish at least assault and SMG felt a bit more immediate and that zooming in actually had some benefits. That is my only gripe and I hope there are mods released to improve the immediacy of gunfire and hit points.

Rest, I may even do a second playthrough at this rate. It has become my go to kill some time bouncing around shooter.

Lol. In BL3 I played through the campaign twice with each character, focusing different builds. I hope this game is like 3 in the sense that the hidden world collectibles stay collected, I'm not chasing down all the Echo logs again.

Here is the equipment I am rocking right now. Shreds pretty much anything.

The submachine guns with the flamethrower at alt fire definitely are worth keeping in your rotation. Who doesn't like using a flamethrower? ;)

I believe this game was designed for two or more people in mind, I've been playing with a friend and the combat is even more intense than single player, more bad asses, more mini-bosses and more loot. We finished "his vile sanctum" mission last night and it was some mind blowing fights, overall my character build is doing very well, I can dish out a lot of damage while also being able to withstand it.

I'm also very please with how my PC has performed with all the on screen action, it's maintained 120-130ish fps on bad ass with no input lag, tearing or crashes, the game looks great as well on a OLED monitor.

I think when October rolls around there will be a bunch of keys I have 12 total now used about 5 or 6 up already.

I'm looking forward to their usual Halloween DLC which is always fun, this one will be called "Horrors of Kaios".

Wow they brought back the best DLC from Borderlands 1 the Halloween The Island of Dr. Moreau I think they had Halloween DLC for BL3 with some Pumpkin guy with a Pumkin Head.

So thinking about playing BL4. Zero/sniper class was always my fave. Did play a couple runt-throughs with Krieg which had to be the most fun ever.

What character and skill tree build out should I be running?

Vex also has a fair amount of Crit on her tree. And yes, Trouble is a great distraction as well.

It's not like it was in BL1. You can make any class into a sniper class in BL4. The four classes add their own spin to things,. You never feel like you're locked out of anything.

Part of the fun is experimenting.

What level do class mods open? Mine are still blacked out I have two slots on the bottom of the Weapon Equip screen both are blacked out yet I think.

I'm running Raffa as a sniper right now. Insanely fun. Snipe, or run in blasting, or drop off turret and snipe while enemy focused on turret.

My Soundblaster Katana V2 makes all the difference now my Speakers were too upfront with sounds just blasting whatever. I never really used it for gaming except on my PS5 but placed it above my speaker and above my monitor on the Wall use a Soundbar Bracket I bought like 2 years ago at Walmart. It's a 5.1 setup with Base on the bottom and top up front speakers and two that pillow out the top I wish the speakers were slightly bigger but the reviews say this is still one of the best. I wonder what a Sonos would sound like but I would have no way to hook it up to a PC since it uses Arc HDMI.

Ha your Corroded!!! better get your Tetnus Shots bugger!!

OK I'm kinda getting sick of the glitches. Cleared a crawler, placed the thing in the receptacle, climbed to the top, and the vent that you are supposed to pull off had no handle so I couldn't target it to pull it off. Anyone else having issues with things not spawning regularly?

Edit - I'm wondering if it's due to the way they created the respawn system. All BL prior once you cleared an area you needed to start a new instance to respawn enemies, this system or constant enemy respawns is new for this series. That's my theory.

BL3 had constant enemy respawns, so bad it reminded me of Far Cry 2.
I could clear a camp then walk away from that camp a hundred yards or so and double back and have to clear it all over again, sometimes with higher level enemies.
That was just one of the reasons I didn't like BL3.

The UI is ok. Definitely not the worst UI.

My biggest gripe with the UI is that it does not remember any of your inventory sort/filter settings. So everytime I go back into my inventory I have to set my sort/filter yet again. Really anti-user UX design there.

Such a simple thing to fix too.

Oh yeah, the UI bug where marking items as trash with the keybind marks the wrong item. That's a flat out bug. Only affects me when I'm scrolled.

IDK why I can't remember that. I remember when farming for the RAKK pistol I had to kill the Rakk's then restart the game for the birds to respawn again.

I don't know about the Rakk's, but there are plenty of psycho's that do without restarting a session.

I never had an issue with that in BL3 but then again I rarely revisisted the same area wwihout restarting the game to respawn a boss, but I hated it in the first BL game, they respawned so fast that if you died and had to run back chances are you needed to kill em all again, respawn timer was freaking short as hell, much better in the other games.

Found this game is best in smaller doeses easy to get taken in for 4 hours or so.l
Just unlocked Sludge Maw boss I'll farm him later on. If you don't do the side quests you bypass alot of stuff.
