Although we don't put much faith in rumors like this, we sure hope this one is true.

"Set on the moon of Elpis and Hyperions [sic] ominous H shaped moon base, the game sees Handsome Jack in the days when he was just a humble programmer called John, hunting a powerful alien artefact [sic] (what else!!). Players will be able to select one of Jack/Johns [sic] four lieutenants to play as in Athena The Gladiator, Wilhelm The Enforcer, Nisha The Lawbringer and Fragtrap, a militarised claptrap."

Is this about the Borderlands Game Telltale is working on? Judging from the pic they shared this sounds much more than "rumors".

I'm don't share the excitement about the sequel. I'll have to say I did not go for the "season pass" so I have no experience playing any of the "expansions" of BL2. But Borderlands 2 was boring and all the "exploits" and the bugs were annoying. It had flashes of brilliance but otherwise it was a map pack for Borderlands 1.

At the very least, I probably wouldn't buy it day one and would need to read a fleshed out review.

The original article has way more details. The comments on the original article mention that the site broke the embargo on the game as it was supposed to be announced at Pax. Sounds like much more than rumors here.

I honestly do not want to be like The Walking Dead series from telltale.

I'd rather have just another (Borderlands 3) straight from Gearbox.

Meh......

2 of these is enough............unless there's a Tint Tina

I really think Borderlands 2 is great and I did like the amount of meaningful expansion packs and new content added as time progressed. SHIFT codes were a mark of brilliance in a day when so many others would have sold them for more cash, sadly. Granted, I do think that the Season Passes should have covered ALL content during that period, but I still felt I got my money's worth and a good deal.

Since I started in BL2 I always wondered what expansion would finally take us up to that H-shaped Hyperion station in the skyline, but one never came! While I'd be as interested in a sequel as I am a prequel, what this proposes sounds like it could be great. I hope they have at least 6 classes again though.

That's just silly. Call it a "Borderlands Prequal". We had Borderlands 1... They didn't call Prometheus an "Aliens 4 Prequal".

Yeah, I was going to say, Borderlands 2 was already a direct sequel to the first game. Really what they mean is the origin story of Handsome Jack, it sounds like.

Might be interested, but I dunno. Borderlands is fun but it never had the longevity to me that it had to some people. For instance, levelling felt really slow to me and I never max levelled any characters in either Borderlands game before I got bored.

I liked B2, but I enjoyed B1 lots more, and have triple the hours in B1, which is pretty impressive since I have over 400 in B2. I had so much fun with B1, I bought it twice. Once in DVD and once on Steam. The bad guys in 1 were just so much more enjoyable for me. HJ was such a huge let down, and more annoying than anything. And when you finally get to fight him, it's a horrible boss fight. It was so easy and he dies like a pansy.

I kinda disagree with the map pack comparison. It's more like DLC. It was a big let down and playing online made it worse, with all the hackers and cheaters. If you didn't dupe or cheat in B2, people treated you strangely and you'd get booted because you would refuse to upgrade to OP weapons. Someone actually explained it to me, too. He said, B2 is was made so much harder because they knew everyone would cheat, so by not cheating, you're gimping yourself. He was dead serious. I stopped playing after that.

The ability to play as a claptrap?! Pretty great. I'm assuming the special ability is talking people to death?

Never underestimate a cheater's attempt to rationalize their behavior. I never felt gimped in either game and I haven't felt the need to cheat.

No offense, that's delusional.

No prequels dammit. Just introduce a new bad guy 20 years after BL2 takes place or something.

I don't know, I am a huge fan of the franchise and was more than a little bummed when Gearbox said no BL3. So yeah, I hope this is true.
