Then play solo. You don't have to squad up with other people. You die, you quit, you immediately jump back in to another game.

Playing solo is much harder, a bit more time consuming, but oh so much more rewarding.

Only exception I make to this rule is under $12.99. I'll buy pure digital games for that price or less. Otherwise I agree, no physical no buy.
 
I love the game, but the cheating does suck. Honestly though, its only about 1 in 10 games I get killed by one though. That's not to bad and shouldn't keep you guys from getting the game.

As explained, the point of the game is to play against 99 other people to see who is "better"...not against a bot that is programmed to see and shoot you with predetermined speed and accuracy.
You can also respawn at any point you want, solo, duo, or squad. Dead? Hit exit and try again, thats it.

There is no reason you can't have bots of different skill levels to play against & rank, solely in single player. Works fine for many, MANY other games.
 
unlike fortnight you actually have to buy this game everytime you want to cheat which should substantially work in their favor. Epic seems to be at a disadvantage since you can clone copies and accounts till your hearts delight on a free to play.

lol yes because it's so easy to get rid of them and prevent cheaters that it's been a non issue for the last 15+ years and pubg is the only game in the history of PC gaming with cheaters on it..

I've never encountered this rampant level of cheating in 20 years of playing online games, you see it literally every match. Since the vast, vast majority of them are Chinese playing on other servers, just region lock them and be done with it. But they won't, because the profits are massive.
 
As much as it pains me to admit, if this is the direction of multi-player gaming going forward, I'm too old for this childish bullshit. I'd rather spend my free time immersed in good single player adventures.

I spent like 400 hours in PUBG and can encounter may be 5-6 times I was killed by cheater.
 
I just don't understand the appeal of cheating. It completely ruins the game. What is the motivation behind it? For fake online creds?

Dev/null- this game is clearly not for you if you want to instant respawn and have no penalty for death. You would be more pleased with COD & BF, or if you want to have a minor penalty go for counterstrike.

it's mostly for item/account selling which is prevelent in the chinese market but there's nothing that can really be done about it since they run US/EU VPN's to bypass the chinese government region blocking. but some of the time it's people that have to scratch their fake ego and ruin the game for everyone else.

i've yet to encounter a single cheater in the game but then again the general consensus with most FPS gamers is that if the opposing person killed you they're obviously cheating so i can't be bothered believing anyone without hard evidence proving it.

I'm with you. I'll take a good story any time over massive multiplayer rando deathmatch. Those can be fun from time to time but I tire of them quickly.

I like they are making the effort to ban some people. But I've watched some youtube vids of gameplay and it just doesn't interest me.

I think you missed the part of you can play solo. If you die, you exit and jump into a brand new game. The "25 mins" might happen if you are grouped with 4 people. A 2 man group, not so much.

The people I play a 4 person group with will kill themselves if 1 or 2 of us die early on.

No more so than shit devs who can't write code that isn't so full of holes and turn around and blame "hackers" for a crap (but fun) product. This game still isn't ready for primetime and sure as hell shouldn't have to be purchased to be played! Kudos to those "hackers" who know how to code better than those making the game! It seems that THEY are the ones making the dev actually work to improve and harden their product.

It's no different than leaving your doors open while rioters are looting and asking them to "Please don't steal my stuff." Some won't and some will take advantage of the freebies inside. Afterward, you'll think about closing your doors and updating the locks going forward!

Well honestly if you have too many cheaters the game turns into a point where your paying customers no longer play it and it's hard to get them back on once they leave in mass exodus. Look at Dayz, it was probably the largest growing game at it's peak, but became a rampant landscape of cheaters and hacks that would instantly wipe a character you spent weeks building. People (I myself one of them) stopped playing that game more due to cheaters, and less to the lack of development, it was still fun in the wonky dayz way regardless of development woes. Now even though they've sold millions of copies to paying consumers, dayz has tiny numbers on steam, the only platform you can play it on.

If you can't offer an even playing field for these types of games, they are doomed to failure. Dayz tried to work around it by creating private hives and shards but honestly it just created even more disconnect in the community that was already fragmenting.

Fort Night on the otherhand has grown faster than Epic really has the ability to manage it. They've essentially scrapped development of their other large game PARAGON to have that team work on fortnight as well. Neither company was really in a place to blow up in the timeframes they have, but Epic is probably better suited for management of large game franchises long term with player approval.

Yeah I've been wanting to look at fortnight, I play PUBG and 9 out of 10 times I die its to a chinese asshole names xiuanqunglao99976768 or some crap with aimbot, no recoil, and wall hacks trying to farm crates to sell. Its rapidly come to the point where I wish I could have gotten my money back.

Yeah once cheating becomes a regular affair the game is dead in the water. Fortnight is already eclipsing PUBG on twitch and doesn't appear to be slowing down. In fact it's got the most concurrent viewer right now out of any game (aside from the CS tournament that was being held earlier, and is an anomaly. Fortnight also actually feels like a well written tight game and you typically get what you expect in the game world, whereas pubg is very much a beta product.

This is true, but Epic pays streamers to play Fortnite. PUBG has many shortcomings but I prefer my battle royal to be more of a military simulator. I think its only a matter of time until Activision/EA try and jump into this genre with one of their mainstream titles. I think Battlefield could translate into battle royal quite well.

2018 is going to see a dozen gametype clones coming to popular franchises with battle royal. It's just too lucrative to ignore. It also lends itself well to cosmetic loot crates and the like so it's a win win for devs. What would be the best 3 franchises to introduce a battle royal mode? I'll throw a few out there for discussion:

Battlefield
Far Cry
Halo

All 3 would print money.
 
I've only seen a cheater maybe 3-4 times from the 300+ hours I have played but I am also not one of those guys that blame every death on the other guy cheating just because they are good. Maybe some of you guys just need to git guud.
