Blizzard to ONLY make MMOG's

WoW has actually saved me money, gaming. Instead of buying some crappy FPS every month, like BF2 *cringe* I am still playing WoW, with a monthly fee which is 1/3-1/4 the cost of a new game.

P.S. Seelenlos ... I need a healthstone :D

Cuz the only games out there are FPS right?

Try a different game!

Please don't compare the value of books to WOW. I don't think you'll ever see a class being taught on the merits of PWNING OMG. And I'd much, much rather go out to dinner with my gf, or go out to a bar with my buddies than sit at home playing WOW. I don't have time to play games consistently throughout the week because of work and school. When I play, I want to be able to sit down and have fun for a short period of time. WOW does not give me that. Ive heard from a lot of people that WOW is great, and that they've spent countless hours playing it. Well I play games enough as it is. I don't want to waste more of my time on them AND pay a monthly fee to do it. I'd rather play CS:S online with my friends for free.

Right on the money...I can't, and nor do I want to, dedicate that much time of my life to a game. I mean, everyone is in a different boat, and have different circumstances, but it took me a LONG time to play all the way through Farcry. It wasn't becuase I suck at games, it was because I might be able to dedicate 30min to the game once a week. Same with Doom3, Half Life 2, Fear. I guess it just has to do with priorities.

Games won't ever be online/monthly fee only, but if hell froze over and that happened, I just wouldn't play the new games. It would suck, because the time I do spend playing games I enjoy, and I am sure there would be some games that I would be interested in, but I just can't see it being worth it/convenient for me.

this one druid went from 0/8 to 8/8 cenarion in 1 mc run...
LOL, that happened to a druid in our guild. He's a new recruit so not allowed to bid DKP yet but since no one else needed them, they were given to him. He went from full blues to almost completely geared out in one run. (stupid high cenarion drops....)

I also got my 2 epics on my first ever Molten Core run.

I knew a warlock that got 3/8 Tier2, 4/8 Tier1, a mageblade, and ZHC all in one week. Made me sad :(

I am a gamer.

I play games that are fun.

World of Warcraft is fun.

Therefore I play World of Warcraft.

My monthly payment is exchanged for services provided.

A persistant game universe.
Server hardware and personnel to monitor such equipment.
GMs and customer service agents to assist me through various issues.

I don't have this silly idea that mmorpgs on the scale of wow should be free.
Payment for servers, personnel, etc are not gonna come from box sales alone.
Diablo II doesn't have a monthly fee and you can play that forever and not have an exchange for cash for it's services. Then again, Diablo II isn't WoW. That's just the way things work. I haven't found an MMO that I would shell out bucks for monthly. I tried EQ on my buddies account for a few days and I just couldn't stand the game.

My character was awesome though, the bearded dwarf lady named Bukakke. Ahh good times.

LOL, I never said FPS were the only genre of games out their. However a vast majority of games falol into the crappy FPS genre, which has been done to death, and has not seen anything revolutionary in a long time. Perhaps Hell Gate london may change this, then again ... thats a former Blizzard man heading that project. Coincidence ... I think not.
