i think me and some friends might hit up either circuit city or best buy and camp out around 2'ish...

what do you guys have planned? any good black friday war stories out there?

My plan is to to be warm and sleeping till noon and have some turkey leftovers for lunch and not freezing my ass off waiting in line in front of best buy for 5 hours just to save 20bucks.. ;)

I did the black Friday thing a few times, but now the only place I go to is Sears for the wicked deals on tools, and home furnishings since they will actually have the BF items in stock after 7:09 am and the stores are pretty empty even at opening around here. Last year I bought about half a grand worth of tools for a little over $200 and was in and out in about 10 minutes.

I went to CompUSA last year and actually got some good items, but the lines were nearly to the back of the store and were moving at the speed of smell so I put the items back and left. It's not worth spending 2 hours in line and fighting the crowds to save a few bucks at any electronics retailer :p

Last year I used BB Bucks (3 max) to get Chappelle's Show Season 1 DVD for like $6 after tax, of course they might change it to not work on BF, but I doubt it. I also did that purchase around 12-1 in the afternoon, so it was during "normal business hours."

As for the battery recharging situation, if you don't want to go to your car to hook up an inverter, I was at Wal-Mart in the automotive section, and they had one of those battery powered car battery jumpers that did other things (I can't remember what, because I just glanced at it) and I think it was around $30, so you might be able to rig it to work for you.
