Hi guys,
I have a stuttering issue with my computer that I've gotten so used to, it took someone else dropping by to point out to me how I really should look into fixing it for me to finally take steps to do so.
First, some info on the computer :
Symptoms : System appears to visually "freeze" for appx a second to a second and a half, every 18 seconds.
At first I thought it was just a video playback issue (because when videos would freeze, the audio would keep going without a problem). However, I noticed the locking up also happens when I type. Every 18 seconds, the typing on the screen freezes... then after the freeze it spits out everything I typed during that second, all at once. In other words, the computer's still listening to me while it appears frozen, it's not not showing me what I typed until the freeze is over.
Anyone have any idea what this could be?
NOTE: I tried leaving the task manager on and observing the running processes while things lock up, and nothing spikes up during those periods. Everything remains at 0, except Firefox which alternates between 1 and 3% activity (negligible).
