Hello guys.
I've got an interesting problem in need of trouble shooting. I've been trying to figure this out for a bit now and really tried everything to my knowledge and need a 3rd party outlook.
The rig:
Challenger case
990fx board
6350 -Stock HS/Clock
ASUS 7850
550w PSU

The problem:
In one room, the machine is hooked to a 43 inch Samsung plasma. Hooked with only HDMI, Power cables and a wired keyboard it works.

Now, we head into the other room. Machine is now hooked to a 51inch Samsung plasma along with the exact same cables (for consistency). At first, plugged in to a power strip along with a router, comcast cable box, and the TV plugged directly to the wall. In the area there is a bit of static when touching the machine and tv and slightly on some other things.
When the machine is turned on it projects an image, showing the asrock boot screen, now sometimes it will lock here and nothing can be done unless powered off. Others, it will boot to the windows logo and lock, and others the password screen and lock.
I've also tested without the powerstrip and just the TV and PC and at this point I'm not receiving any image, giving a break for the night.

The really strange this is I've taken it from room to room 2 or 3 times and tested to see if its just that area and it seems to be.

Things done: Reseated ram, test 1 Stick then other
Swapped from Dual channel to single
Swapped HDDs

Whenever anything is plugged into the front usb/front panel it locks up.
The case is a Rosewell Challenger, I looked at the cables and they seem fine from what I can tell. What would cause something to lock a computer when something is plugged in?

Could be the 'bad' room doesn't have a good ground for either the computer or display.

I believe it is the outlet. In the "bad" room there is another outlet diagonally across from the other and plugging both the computer and tv to this allows perfect normal use.
As well as, the stand offs on the motherboard I did miss one or two when building it so I suppose this may also cause the problem?

What 550W PSU do you have?

As for the front panel locks, generally that occurs when you have a defective front panel. Just something that slips past quality control every once in a while. It is a Rosewill case so not surprising that you would have an issue with the front panel.

Erm, a HEC 550TB
Some generic 550w 80+ bronze, and what shall I do for the case RMA?
