overclock. if you don't, your mhash is about right

Currently have guiminer running on my xfx 5870 non reference cooler. 352 mh/s. How can I tweak it for it to go up? O and I know nothing about overclocking.

For those of you with a BTC Guild account. Do you donate 2.5% so you can get paid on unconfirmed blocks too?

how much life is left in easy money bitcoining? if i started months ago and used my rig i could have funded a few decicated rigs and a car lol.

Is it still worth buying a few grand worth of 58xxs, or just mine with what you've got while you can?

Edit: I just saw coins fell another $2 since i went to bed. QQ i hope this isnt about to bust before i get in a month of mining.

On the 8th a man who invests other people's money by buying HD 58xx series cards and putting them in a data center was still getting piles of HD 5870's to install. I personally wouldn't be making any huge investments right now because the price doesn't look stable but if you believe bitcoin will be worth more again in the near future then current price doesn't really matter.

After creating an account you have to create a worker which will be your username with an underscore and then a second word of your choosing.

no no no no no no...

he's talking about "solo" mining, the solo username and password are the only ones you need in your bitcoin.conf file and you don't need to create a worker, the workers are only for pools...

I will join in when there is a [H] pool. I currently only have one 6970, but it should be good for about 370mhash

hopefully this drop will scare a bunch of people off and difficulty will actually DECREASE...lol

that is true....btw the forums aren't working, are they working for anyone else?

i heard they wereing moving forums this morning?
the price has gone done...hopefully the amount of money is going down too lol

So 2 questions:

1 - should I put two works to my single gpu?

2 - how will I know if I find any coins?

shitt--i placed my 5870 on the amazon and it sold for $318 AFTER fees, im thinking of getting a 6950 to mine instead, seems like a good idea? or keep the 5870?

price is increasing dammit...my hardware wont be in until this afternoon

Finally got my spare rig up and running again. Stupid raid0 drives was causing Win7 not to load the OS. Mining on a 5770. It started out at ~180 mhash/s but after overclocking to 960/600 it's mining at ~200 mhash/s. Can't get memory lower than that. Now I wished I kept my other 5770s. I could be mining at 600 mhash/s with minimal cost.

hindsight is a bitch nobody knew this craze would have taken off like this.

i think i am gonna pull 100 out of savings and play this forex market buying and selling now that it is more volatile

since you can no longer buy 5 series cards at decent prices are there an decent 6 series bang for the buck wise?

Could some one pls tell me why guiminer only sees one of my 3 gpus? do i have to mine in linux to be able to use all 3? 325Mhash/s is making me QQ

Do you have a monitor or a dummy plug connected to each card? You need that to be able to mine.

making a dummy is very easy, like $1.50 lol

but 6950s and up
vertical scaling is better than lateral on this turf

Aren't the 5770/6770 a better deal than a 6950 if you have the slots? You can get a cheap ASUS 5770 for $110-20mir on newegg and they get over 200Mhash/s.

Is anyone having issues with BTC Guild? My MH on my 5870 dropped from the mid-300's overnight to the mid 100's. No other changes were made. I just restarted and I seem to be doing better, but its looking very variable (i.e. will burst to 300-350, then drop, burst again). I'd almost be inclined to think its a data starvation issue from BTC Guild...

So 2 questions:

1 - should I put two works to my single gpu?

2 - how will I know if I find any coins?

1. just use one worker per GPU...

2. I have no idea if you're solo mining, 99% of my hashing has been pooled, if you are solo mining the most obvious answer is that 50BTC will magically appear in teh wallet...? JIYP will undoubtedly ensue...lol

even at the current sub $20 rate that's still a decent amount...

:D

but i believe two draw more power?

Ya i had to break my eyefinty and plug a monitor into my 5870. Then atis 11.5 drivers disabled one of my 5970 cores so I had to downgrade to 11.4. Pushing 1200 now :D

At $100 a pop am i right that 5770 is current best bang for the buck? at 200mh/s each for $200 you out preform 5870s that are selling for $300+. Unless egg pops up with more 5830s

dumb question and im prolly doing something wrong i installed the bitcoin software and have left it running for 3 days now and have not earned 1 coin. My setup is in my sig.

are you mining solo or in a pool? you could mine solo for months and never see a coin.

sign up for it, choose it in the client and then add flags if you wish to optimize

btw the forums thinking trying to scam them lol
