Bitcoin Discussion Thread Part 2

No, the mining reward halved, from 50btc per block to 25btc per block.

Difficulty has also been on the rise. Bitcoincharts is estimating it will spike another 20% at the next adjustment, which will be in 258 blocks...

I would email the owner of BTC Guild and explain the situation. They should still have your coins.

This was on the bottom of the Home page

Support available in IRC channel #btcguild on irc.freenode.net (Eleuthria is the admin)

The coins you mined would have been sent to an address of your choosing, wouldn't they have? That is how slush's pool works at least - every time I get one coin, it is sent to my locally installed wallet. So, I doubt the pool is going to be able to help.

Anybody interested in selling me some bitcoin? I have $100 to invest. PM please.

Ps: using Paypal. If you post often I will gift the money. So no fees to you.

The problem with eBay and PayPal is that they do not protect digital sales. If you did not send a real item with tracking info they just take your money back at the buyers request.

awesome quote in the ZeroHedge comments today

The value of gold and silver, those metals having been created by a type II supernova and nothing else, is based on proof-of-work.

Just like bitcoin.

moved my ass to litecoin (been playing with it the past few months)

I'm only mining on two 7970's so i'm super small time, free electricity though so it's 100% profit. No matter which coin i mine I usually get between 150-175 dollars a month for "free"

that almost pays my car note :) (well one of them at least)

Anyone know where I can buy bitcoins straight up? Mtgox verification is taking forever and to get money in my account is going to take a week after I get verified. I need to buy about 30 BTC fast. Have money in my Paypal or credit card or whatever. I just need coins.

Any help appreciated.

I'm still haveing a hard time wrapping my head around 2 bitcoins being worth ~$70 right now... OMG

You can mine litecoin with cpu right? What kind of return should I see with an i7 930? I have access to a crap load of decent cpu's that could mine for me.

A lot could be lost from when it was pretty much worthless and people lost their wallets etc.

Last trade at 48.8 now... though, I see no market support under it right now...

Jesus Christ...I know as soon as I buy some bitcoins the bubble is gonna pop....Anybody have any idea what is driving the values up?

Difficulty increases, payout decreases, increased demand from the black market (allegedly)
