The only thing puzzling about it was the awful flight controls. No autocenter? Really? I scoured the options, but nope.. The energy puzzle towards the end of the tutorial was a pain in the ass for me for sure.

reading reports that people who break NDA are getting banned from origin and their whole library goes bye bye.
Got to play for a whole 10 minutes before the servers shut down for the day. These testing times aren't practical for anyone living outside the US.

That was fucking awful. Jetpack is fun, everything else... Wow, bad.
Worst game I've played in a long time, yes, worse than ME:A.
It's just an alpha so we'll see what happens..
BS, you have to expect them to break the contract they accepted? I'd have taken more than their game library. Kids these days think they can get away with anything. This is ten times worse then loot boxes. You almost have to expect people to stream the game.
Matchmaking didn't work. I waited a few minutes then went ahead solo. But the end of the mission was too hard alone, so I couldn't complete it.Anybody actually got to play any mission? The matchmaking has literally not been able to get me squadmates.
I was able to do the mission with 3 other random people through matchmaking Saturday at the start of the second session. Was pretty quick to get matched.
I like it a lot. Feels like they took the concept of Mass Effect: Andromeda and expanded it to an open world while adding the ability to fly. Gunplay is really snappy and satisfying. They just need to tweak enemy density and I'm sure there will be a more robust system in place for world events at launch. I believe this is a buy for me.
I think the exact opposite. Basic mmo mission structure, uninteresting.I was able to do the mission with 3 other random people through matchmaking Saturday at the start of the second session. Was pretty quick to get matched.

There was hardly enough content available to come to this conclusion. Even if the gameplay systems are formulaic I think the gameplay mechanics we sampled more than make up for that. But I've always loved the Mass Effect multiplayer.I think the exact opposite. Basic mmo mission structure, uninteresting.
Me too, this has very little in common with that. But I've always loved the Mass Effect multiplayer.
This game is garbage and it's going to get decimated at launch in its current state.
Even if they fix every bug and other issue I had with it, the core gameplay is trash. I'd go into intricate detail about every single thing that makes this game horrible, but I want to at least attempt to avoid violating the NDA even though I probably already did.
Anthem is to ME:Andromeda as FO76 is to FO4. Take it off your list, cancel your pre-orders if you got 'em.
I still have my eye on this. I think the Dragon Age: Dread Wolf reveal was just to appease the long term fans so as to optimize Anthem's launch (EA has done this before), but I'm not judging anything until I've played a demo & the game is out with numerous reviews.
I want to hope for this game, but only time will tell.
Mass Effect meets Destiny is the perfect way to describe it, in my opinion. Gunplay is much improved over ME, though. It feels like a proper third person shooter in that regard. The other mechanics clearly used ME as a base to start from, though. The jumping is exactly like Andromeda, for example, and the world structure is also very similar but on a much larger scale.Let me try and ask this in a way where, again, I don't want to get into trouble.
The core gameplay needed to be more than ME:A's for gunplay to base a game like this off of it IMO and probably a decent amount of others. You (and even some others in this thread) are suggesting something even less than that. Do I read you correctly?
I saw one poster mention story and narrative. It's hard to imagine how this kind of structure allows for it but if there is a way to elaborate on that I'd love to learn more.
I do see the expected split opinions in here.
If you and some others end up being correct it's going to be the least surprising news in gaming in quite some time for me at least.
Can people make any comments as to how this compares to the Destiny games without violating NDA because that's the big specter this is being compared to nonstop. Even some of the art design is flat out derivative.
By the time another Dragon Age ever gets released... does anyone really think that's going to even remotely resemble a traditional RPG of sorts as opposed to a pay service MMO-ish type hybrid like Anthem, Destiny, etc.?
This is all EA. The name Bioware has little to no meaning.
I dare them to prove me wrong.
Come back after the demo comes out on February 1 and tell us what you think. This game is garbage and it's going to get decimated at launch in its current state.

There was very little narrative presented. We got hints as to what Anthem actually refers to. Don't want to get anymore specific than that other than to reiterate that there was very little content to come to any sort of conclusion as to the overall gameplay loop and story.
