Bioware needs attention!

Yep, DLC for DA:O so far has been pretty trash. Stone Prisoner was okay, but still overpriced. Wardens Keep and Return To Ostagar are barely an hour each.....hardly worth the download, let alone paying for them.

Stone Prisoner was free as long as you bought the game brand new.

Balurs Gate III BETTER BE ?THE ANSWER !PP:!!@)!)@)!@)!#%_@#%*@_$%*_@)$#_^#)$*^

w/ 4-24 other real people, some of which are IRL college buddies or colleagues. This alone makes it win over DAO.

No, that makes it lose. If you have nothing better to do with your friends than play online video games, I hate to break it to you, but you need to ditch those people and find new friends.

Hmmm just saw this.. "Epic Bioware Community Event" they say?

Must be something a little bigger than DLC. Maybe free DLC for everyone idk? Anyone's guess is as good as mine. But I don't recall them announcing any other DLC like this...

Heres hoping its SW:TOR or DA:O stuff!!!!

In general for for any game developer, where do new games usually get announced? gaming conventions? Ever on a website?

"Community Event" makes me think of something like BlizzCon or some other big fan convention... that would suck! KotOR or TOR news please.

kotor 3 would be epic. But seeing as how they are working on the MMO version, I just can't see how they would do that.

lol at the armor, maybe new pets for Shepherd's captain's room. Each pet will resemble the personality of your favorite community friend at social.bioware.com. 1 Microsoft point per pet!

Well, an hour and 20 minutes. I can't wait to be disappointed!!!! :p

haha, site's getting hammered. Pages aren't loading.

I hate EA style marketing. EA can do what they want with their money.... but man, I wish more of it was put into actual game development.

Games cost millions and millions of dollars to make. The money being spent on the prizes is nothing compared to that.

I know that. More of a generalized rant, where something like three times the money of development is spent on marketing.

I'll tell you this though, this gig costed a lot more than $62,908.40 to pull off. (and yes some of these items were probably donated from the likes of people like AMD). First off, the marketing genius's need their cut. I don't know the whole sum put into this Bazaar, but if that was put into developing a new paid ME2/DA DLC, I think more people would be happy.

I'm not quick to the details, but from what I heard EA has been posting a quarterly loss for a long time if I'm not mistaken. Maybe they are changing their ways. Maybe they will be focusing on quality rather than hype of games. Can only hope (especially when it comes to Bioware games). Bioware can only put in to their games what EA feeds them.

EA is in a bad place right now. Ricatello has been trying to change the company, make it what gamers want, but gamers aren't buying the games. They're ignoring the things that should be selling very well. Dead Space only sold 1.5 million copies. Thats terrible for a AAA title. Mirrors Edge sold far less. Both deserved a lot better than they got. Ricatello is in danger of being booted out, yet he's the one who seems to care about making EA a company that provides good titles and provides things people want to buy. Its really going to suck of he's kicked out and whoever is put in his place decided to take EA back to what it used to be. I think they are taking a look at how marketing is done though. EA wants to go totally digital with everything so if they do that maybe they'll switch their advertising that way. Things like their sports games, the Sims, and even the Mass Effect series will do better with broad mass market marketing. I think their smaller titles would do better with more directed marketing and good release dates.

Something like this is good marketing. For people, like me, who have been fans of Bioware since MDK2 it feels like its something being done to say "hey, thanks for supporting us here is something different". Its not like they used this to release paid DLC or something, its a long running contest of sorts. They could have done something even more stupid like use it to reveal a site redesign or something. I've seen that happen before. Or do the Kojima thing and announce the announcement of an announcement.

Clicked everyone's in the thread, thanks for whoever does the same. I'll be regularly checking this thread for new referrals to click.

The only other way to get points is by Twittering, I got rid of my account because I didn't twit, twat (that has a totally different meaning back in the UK), whatever it is to twitter.

That would suck if he got booted. Would rather see a DLC, but what the heck, no harm in silly stuff ... clicked on your link. Here's mine:

 ;)

Got everyone else's as well up to this point.

If you don't have DA:O, its expansion, or ME2 to register for tokens you can enter a quiz for each game to get the full amount as if you registered the game, sweet. But this won't work if you already registered for the game.

http://social.bioware.com/auction_rules.php

Scroll down to "2. Additional Methods of Earning Tokens" and there will be a link to a quiz for each game, or click the links below

Dragon Age: Origins
Mass Effect 2
Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening

I already have DA and it's expansion, so I could only enter the ME2 quiz, but here are my answers if they didn't randomize them.

What is the name of the Krogan that Commander Shepard can recruit for his squad in Mass Effect 2?: Grunt
How many different player classes are there in Mass Effect 2?: 6
What race of aliens are abducting humans across the galaxy in Mass Effect 2?: Collectors
Who pilots the Normandy in Mass Effect?: Joker
What is the name of the Mass Effect comic book series, Mass Effect __________?: Redempton
