My friend was trying to overclock his processor but was coming across a weird problem: the BIOS settings wouldn't save. He is using an Asus P5N-E SLI and has an Intel E6320 processor. No matter what settings he chose when he would save and exit the stock settings would be used on the next reboot. Any suggestions ?

Does his clock time always reset on a cold boot?
If so, his CMOS battery is dead and needs replacing.

My guess is battery as well. Radio shack sells them for a few bucks. It's worth a shot!

Thanks for the replies guys. I will check with him about the time, and get back to you.
