BIOS password reset needed

I am trying to log into an old Elitebook 2570p. Can't get by the BIOS password.
Is there a way?

Pull the battery and reset the CMOS.

From what I understand that will screw up the clock in the BIOS.

Reset the clock when you get into the bios.

It will reset all settings.

Like mentioned above, just set the time after the reboot.

I pulled the battery and waited 5 minutes. Did not help.

looks like the bios password is persistent. you have to either contact hp and the will send you a file to use and instructions or google for an unlock tool

I bought a used laptop one time like this off ebay and contacted the original owners for the password.

Turns out it was stolen

. Needless to say I didn't get my password...
