Biggest CPu cooler

Dude, I would be afraid to put that onto a motherboard without a steel bar of some kind supporting the weight of that inside a tower case. And even if that somehow fit in a desktop style case? I would still make some kind of crossbar support that it'd pull some of the weight off of the board. There is no way in hell that can be light.

its already been for sale for a while

10 heat pipes and 140mm fan. its kind of like a tower type heat sink (tuniq, ultra 120) with the older overhang type (xp90, si-128, etc) on top of it. its hard to imagine air cooling getting much better ( bigger?)than this but there are 200/250mm fans already so....

i woul have one but it doesnt fit in my lian li v2000 plus 2.

Holy crap! That thing is MASSIVE!

...but is it efficient? I'd like to see someone test it compared to whats already proven.

It's got to perform well, just with the sheer amount of pipage that thing has. It's a a larger horizontal version of the Ninja so I would guesstimate perhaps outperforming the TRUE when both equipped with the slowest speed fans, maybe nipping at the TRUE's heels with noisier fans. So far I've only seen a comparison with ye olde XP120.

Wow! That thing is real huge! And yes, damned heavy too! 1155grams = about 2.5lbs!

The base is already lapped to a mirror finish. Geez, wish my TRUE did not cost extra to be lapped (and it's not lapped to a mirror finish). Then again, the review doesn't make it look so good, perhaps because of the "bad e8400" he has, not able to reach 4.0ghz without putting vcore at 1.5v.

The heat sink looks to be a pain though... For those of us with taller ram sticks like corsair dhx/dominators or ram cooling fan kits, we'd have to either get new (shorter) ram. Also it looks like we'd have to remove the cpu heat sink in order to remove/place ram.

probably pretty much the same thing you would have to do with an xp90, xp120, si-128, enzotech ex-x, etc.

edit actually after looking at the pics in the "review" it looks like it reaches to the end of the mb, much farther than the hs i mentioned. could interfere with opticals in some types of cases.

I can still get memory in and out of my machine w/ an SI-128. It's not easy, or comfortable (gumby fingers?) but still doable. And nothing tall like dominator.

That monster would make it very difficult, if not impossible, to get to my memory. I'll stick with my jet engine powered SI-128 thanks.

I'm not impressed. My TRUE keeps my Q6700 @ 57C (1.47V still testing) and I can fit it in my case. Not like that thing...

Yes, it doesn't look like shoving as much metal as you can get at the CPU works very well. Maybe the overhang method is just inferior to a traditional tower?

Imagine the weight of a few of them chucked in a skulltrail with some equally big heatsinks on some vga... throw in a decent lot of harddrives in there... as you lift it above your head... you hear your motherboard crack..... WHAAA
