big beta 8103

None here. I believe they may be vapor-ware WUs.
But then again I'm not a beta user either.

Edit: Belay that. I see via HFM where that was just added. Still no results however.

We're releasing a new bigWU project to beta, 8103. This is essentially a clone of 8102 (based on what we're seeing in 8102, we've identified some more conditions to explore) and thus has identical points & deadlines.

The projects in our 810X series have to do with how influenza virus gets into cells. This is something we do a lot of work on, both because influenza is an important disease and because the process of cell entry by influenza virus is a model to study other viruses as well as things like nerve impulse transmission. Thus the most direct applications are to infectious disease, but we hope to address diseases such as Alzheimer's (where some of the drugs specifically target certain kinds of nerve impulse transmission). There has been a lot of exciting experimental work in this field to come out recently, and our experimental colleagues are encouraging us to do more simulations. Unfortunately, the simulations take time (and we need a lot of simulations). That's where you come in...thanks to the consistent help of bigWU donors over time, we are starting to see some interesting results. We're following those up and hope they pan out.

All of mine are running -bigbeta and have been for the duration, and I have not seen an 8103 yet.

Hey! I was able to capture Bigfoot and a Chupacabra, yet I can't get me a 8103. :p
 
How does the 10:31 TPF compare to 8102/8101 on that rig?
And have you updated WU list on HFM?
 
This is the first one, and TPF is the same as for 8102 as I can recall!

Edit: I checked to Benchmark Clients (HFM.NET) and this came up, so something better with 8102.

I have just received one as well on my OC'd 6166HE rig.
And yes the PPD/TPF is very similar to 8102.
If you update the WU list from Stanford it will show properly for 8103. Mine does.
 
Nice to see good ppd from new units. Now I just need to get some.

I wonder if *ahem* I can find a way to get a streak of these going.
 
I just got one as well - looking at 11 minutes and change on 4x 6172 for ~450k ppd.
 
Wow...... wow. I found a quadracorn :D On the 6180SE rig, 10:15 TPF for about 530K.
 
16,5 minutes TFP on dual [email protected] GHz after 44% complete, around 260k PPD expected. In short, roughly same as 8102's...

Which run of the project are your folding guys ?

Mine is Run 1, I think I saw some Run 0 also on some HFM.net screen caps ?

Since all the - very few - 8102's I folded were labelled Run 0, I was wondering if more Run -> more WUs than 8102's -> more PPD goodness ? ;)

That was what my 6180SE chips would do on my Gi board before the power problem
 
I'm seeing quite a few of these 8301's now - processing 4 of them currently.

I like these things - just got one on one of my 4P's and qd reports: 530247.56 ppd

Thanks guys for the data, it's confirmed Runs 0 and 1 are available for 8103. Any of you could confirm whether 8102 was Run 0 only ?
 
Just got one of 8103 on my 4p (3x6172 + 1x6128) with total of 40 cores in use.
TPF right now with 38% done is 12 min 35sec . Downloaded new projects from Stanford for HFM but still no data yet.
