Thinking about purchasing a GTX 260 (BFGRGTX260MC896OCDE) from best buy because I have a $100 giftcard. Is this a safe graphics card manufacturer to go with for the long run? Dont wanna be fucked if the company should go belly up. Its either forking out $80 for this card or $149 on a XFX 4870 1GB.

Yes!

Lifetime warranty
Great Customer Service (a rep visits this site frequently and often helps resolve issues for those who post here - Name is Jeff.Kozlowski)
I had a 4-day turn around on an RMA for my 8800GT. Best experience I've ever had with a company.

If you ever have an issue with the RMA process, there is a BFG representative on this forum. :)

Edit: I see I was beaten by a whole minute.

Glad to hear, I always hear about XFX and EVGA, but not much BFG. Anyways is that card a 216 core?

Should you go with the BFG card, you can always find me here on the forums if you need any assistance. I'm sure the card will work just fine, but just in case :)

I've had many BFG Video cards over the years, and they have always been great. The company has also been top notch to deal with concerning RMA's as well. I've only had one card go bad, a 5950 Ultra that I purchased back in the day, that they promptly replaced it with a 6800 Series Card. I know I've got at least three BFG cards right now folding for the [H]orde, a 8800GT, a gtx260 and a gtx275.

You can't go wrong buying BFG.

I just saw "OCFU, give the competition the bird". Does the FU mean what i think it means? LOL

I've got a couple of BFG 7600gt oc's in my old man's rig that are still kickin. Top tier card(sticker)maker, no doubt. :D

I have owned five BFG video cards and all are doing just fine.

You don't hear much about BFG because their stuff doesn't break, they have great customer service and support, and if people do have a problem they fix it, period.

I have BFG video cards all the way back to the Ti4600 AGP..........and each and every one still works.

Buy the 260, you won't be sorry...........and if a new card comes out in the next 100 days, you can Trade-Up.............go to BFGTech.com and read the details.

I just bought the 260 from best buy. $169 in store. $184 after tax -10% coupon, - $100 GC $64 out the door for me. Card seems very solid. You guys just helped make BFG some money. You guys rock thanks!

I got my BFG 285 back in Feburary...been running solid ever since. After seeing how well Jeff.Kozlowski handles things, I'm glad I went BFG.:D

My first BFG card was back in the 6600GT days. I remember playing day and night in BF2 with these cards (SLi). been rock solid until I got a 7800GT. I miss that card. :(

yeah best buy is an intresting collage of excellent and terrible PC componant partners. BFG is superb, EVGA is superb, Gigabyte pretty well represents the industry standard...

and then rocketfish?

I notice considerable inconsistency about BB. I've bought my last 3 video cards there on unbeatable deals: a 4850 right after they were released when they had it for $200 with a 25% discount on all Visiontek products, an XFX 4890 which was on clearance for $151 and then a pricematched BFG GTX 275 for $180 (110% match to the same card at Microcenter for $200).

Mostly I figure the good deals are a result of them being a bunch of uneducated chimps when it comes to hardware. I certainly scratched my head when I saw this 4890 for $151 sitting next to a 4850 for $180. Even a non-enthusiast could put two and two together and see that the higher model number is better. Most of the time, their deals are shit but once in a while they lay a golden egg.

So far my BFG GTX275oce has been great, my first Nvidia card :D. I use it to fold on too, about 15 hours a day. So far it's been rock solid. :D.

I have an 8800GT through them. Had to RMA twice. Both times have been painless.

How are the prices on the BFG cards for the trade up? Are they ridiculously exspensive like EVGAs? Man I love this card, graphics look so good I busted a nutt on the LCD. How do you clean this shit up?

We try to keep them inline with the prices you would find online. Some might be a bit more expensive due to high sales demands, but I think they are pretty fair.

BFG's a good brand and awesome company. EVGA and XFX just get more exposure, but if i could grab a BFG card, i would. i wish they'd make ATI cards and give XFX a run for it's money.

All my (aka, 1 ;) ) nvidia cards have been BFG. My 7900GT OC did die, but the RMA process was super smooth and I got back a 7950GT. Too bad they don't make ATI cards :(
