I have been out of overclocking for a while, but I just bought Left 4 Dead a couple weeks ago along with the following:

NONE of this is overclocked right now or has been overclocked (until I buy some more fans and a better CPU HS/Fan)

ASUS P6T
i7 920
Three-2gb OCZ Platinum RAM
BFG GTX280OC
OCZ 60GB Solid State Drive
Two-1.5Tb drives
DVD Burner

Latest Nvidia Drivers

Anyway, when playing Left 4 Dead for ~6 hours straight (the last 2 nights) I get video "anomalies" on some of the maps the walls look pink. My house has the AC set on 73 degrees F and thought it does get a little warmer than the rest of the house, IMO I don't think a card that is NOT overclocked should ever do this (unless it is 85 degrees or higher ambient temp).

Should I return the card or send it to BFG for a replacement?

Do they do cross-shipping?

Track the gpu temps while your playing next time to see what really is happening. Until you know for sure it's overheating there's no point in going for an RMA yet.

agreed, use rivatuner, evga precision or ntune and lets us know what gpu temps actually are.

Pink walls are a common problem with valve source games from my experience, its a texture that didn't load. Can you post screenshots? From my experience BFG cross-ships if you have a valid credit card for insurance purposes.

you have to pay a premium fee to cross ship, it's 15 or 20.00 i believe.

yea source games are bad about doing pink walls when loading maps! i have a BFG GTX 285 OC+ and it runs great ive never had a problem out of it

Thanks! I will start tracking my temps on the video card.

What temperature range SHOULD the card run at?

i'm using an antec 900 case, which has pretty good ventilation and two 280's. my cards can get pushed to low 80's while playing stalker cs or crysis warhead. another thing you should consider when tracking temps is using the precision tool so you can see the temps in the game if you only have one monitor. once the card starts crossing the 90's C mark, i would start to think any problems could be temp induced. i think if you hit 100 C, the card will actually start throttling down.

OP - Let us know what the results of your testing are, and if need be I can get the replacement setup for you.

Pink walls have been an issue for me in source games for a couple years now.... every once in a while i get them and i just don't even bother paying attention

it still happens to me on my evga 280, but not as much as it did with my 8800gts... that's why I stick to source games on my main machine :p I've yet to have a pink wall with my 4870x2, although it did happen with my crossfired 3870's

probably just resolved by driver progression, though.
