BF3 Crossfire not working.

BF3 beta crossfire was working. I noticed something odd at launch today (really low FPS); so I then put on my afterburner monitor and noticed that only one card was in use. One was 99% the other was 0%. This means that crossfire isn't running.

Anyway, right now I'm in the process of trying to remove the AMD drivers and all cap profiles. I'll report back. Anyone else have this issue?

Update: I get a BSOD when trying to uninstall an application profile set. If I try to uninstall in safe mode it says that installer service isn't running. How am I supposed to clean this out?

Nope... one thing to do is NOT reinstall any of the CAP's ... AMD released they are causing issues.. I did have to drop to a single screen as Eyefinity and a set of Toxic 6950's in trifire were not playing well with the engine.

As for a single card not working make sure somehow you are not in a borderless windowed mode (alt-enter when your in game) windowed mode will kick it to only one card.

What the heck. I just reinstalled everything. Once with just the new preview drivers, and once with the preview drivers + latest cap and I'm not getting my second GPU on at all! It stays at 0%.

What the heck. :(

Anything I can do?

Your card is being recognized and it is in crossfire mode under the cataylst correct?

Crossifire seems to be working for others so something is going on here. remove the drivers and cap. run driver sweeper in safe mode and clear all traces AMD, reinstall only the 11.10 v3 driver, burn your only copy of 11.9cap 3 onto a cd and then burn that cd, and scatter the ashes in your toilet and flush. Never install that again. Make sure primary video is set to pcie in the bios.

Wow okay, so after tons of experimentation I've isolated the issue.

CROSSFIRE is ONLY enabled when running EYEFINITY.

If I try to run 1920x1200 it only uses one video card.

THIS WAS NOT how it worked in Beta. This is a new bug.

:(

I don't want to play in eyefinity. I only get like 40 fps =[

That is so strange.

I run two screens both plugged into my primary GPU. Crossfire works and the game is displayed on my main display and the extended desktop with things like TS3 is on the second display.

Stupid question, are you running the game in full screen mode or windowed mode? Crossfire only works on full screen, perhaps get into the game and go check the video options and make sure fullscreen is selected. You might be running a very large window instead.

Weird. I have a single screen running at 2560x1440, and with my two MSI Lightning 6970s, I get Crossfire in-game. If I play windowed, my fps drops in half so I know it works. Otherwise I can max everything and get 50-60fps avg.

I'm having a strange time too.

I'm playing in Eyefinity with the unoffical CAP4 and I can only get one card to work. Running fullscreen 3240x1920.

I'm definitely not in windowed mode.

I don't know why I'm having the issue. It's annoying to disable extended vs full but whatever, at least it works with both cards now.

This is gonna sound silly, but have you tried simply alt/tabbing in and out of the game?

I have this same problem, sometimes when I launch only one GPU is working and I must alt/tab to the desktop and back to the game for both gpu's to fire up.
I am running 11.10 preview 3 without cap profiles.

edit: if you haven't solved your uninstall issues, try deleting the driver + software for the gpu's within device manager. reboot, and try to uninstall cap from there.

I just tried running in windowed mode and I'm getting the same issue.

Also Alt+Tab does nothing for me and neither does switching from windowed mode to full.

Now I just ran into a bug where for some reason my LMB fire button wont work and if I change the fire binding it still doesn't work... lol

Trust me, I tried deleting the drivers 5 times over.

Nothing else worked so finally I just decided to run it off of one screen and voila... it worked. I then tested it with eyefinity (3 screens) and voila it worked. 1920x1200 while eyefinity was enabled (not extended) no workie.
