Anyone else see this?

I was on voodoextreme.com, and noticed the link to the story. The numbers on those pages seem a bit off. They have a 9800 wooping all over a 6800!

Utter BS......
QFT. "And again, as expected, once every knob is turned on high, the weaker GPUs are left behind in the dust, and even the mighty stumble. While remaining definitely extremely playable, even the X850XT fails to provide the extra-smooth performance rating preferred by professional gamers." wow...the XT is going about 60 FPS on high @ 1024x768, and he says its not "extra smooth performance." Just wow...

dude whatever. that guy needs to be spanked for being such an obvious ati lover. my 6600gt doesn't keep up w/ aa on but otherwise is 50 fps 1024/768 w/ shadows off but geometry and distance high and all else medium.

Wow...Thats funny.

Damn fanbot's need to quit..only making them selfs look bad. ;)

yeah, I just recently sold my 6800gt and moved to a x800xt aiw. I honestly can't tell the difference in any current games. I saw that 6800 score and laughed out loud.

The 9800, 6800, 6200 and 5200 were run on an old 2600+. The others were run on a new X2.
Dunno how the 9800 beat out the 6800, though.

Wow, that is crap. Where's the 6800 Ultra? or GT? Totally biased :p
I must admit I usually like the site but that does take the biscuit. No SLI, No Ultra, no GT level cards.

Wonder how muchATI is paying them for this 'independant' review? :D

What's worse is that the 6800 is running on a 2600+ with Single Channel RAM, but the PCI-E cards (all by ATI for some reason) are running on the X2 4800+! That's....not right. If they put a 6800 GT on that PCI-E setup, it'd easily keep up with, if not beat (marginally) the X800XL. C'mon, any reviewer should know that you get increased performance when you almost double the CPU speed. Plus the dual core thing. This is terrible. :p

They definately should've separated the AGP graphs from the PCIE graphs, since the two systems were not even close to equal. It was still interesting to see the 9800 catch up to the 6800 on the AGP system, which was something I didn't expect.

It would've been nice to see some nVidia PCIE cards. Oh well, it's nice to know that my X800XL can hang with a X850XT at low settings at basically any resolution. *hugs his X800XL*

Also.. the x700 LE beat the 6800?? Man how much money did ATI pay him to make himself look like a total jackass.

single channel, dual channel, single core, dual core.....it shouldn't matter this much!!!!!! A 2600+ with an agp 6800 should still beat an X700LE...no matter how high-end the cpu is.

Ever heard of the terms CPU & bottleneck.

Get acquainted.

This is the worst review I've seen in my life.

Why even look at such a horrible, horrible thing ...

some things up with that i ran the demo and I KNOW i get faster then that some one fucked up that test or that 6800 was only tested in the AGP system thay dont even say what card was in what system on the graphs thats realy fishy >.>

edit: from that review

"remember that the PCI-Express test box ran on a ridiculously powerful dual-core 64-bit CPU that's not even out on the market yet, and a massively expensive GPU that currently 0wns all other graphics cards."

WTF not out yet LOOK ON FUCKING NEWEGG YOU DUMBFUCK
and he actly used the word 0wns OMG how much DID ATi pay this guy

There is no way those test came up with those results, unless whenever the nvidia cards were tested he ran multiple programs in the backround. My current pc is downclocked because im finding the problems with it and my fps jumps around in the 50-80mark the whole time i play. And thats with 1024x768 with everything on high except for lighting and texture with 4xAA and 16x anis. filtering

Mobile XP 185 x 11 - 2035mhz
1 gig OCZ at 185mhz
Gigabyte 6800nu

I thought the 6800 plain was worse than the 6600GT. What surprised me was the 6200 and the X700. They did way better than I thought.

You have to disregard the results. This benchmark is totally BS. A 6800 IS faster than a 6600gt

That has got to be the shittiest benchmarking review I've ever read.

I would now like to fill in a blank or two for the author however, for those of you wanting GT series cards included...

I have here in my test systems a 6600GT and a 9600se. And even though I have not actually run the game on the 9600se, I feel confident in stating that it looks better and plays smoother than the 6600gt. Crippled as it is by a 1ghz cpu and pc133 sdram and it's own 64bit memory, the 9600se would probably be WAY better. The 6600gt did seem to play the game, though I didn't really pay attention as I was busy stenciling the ati logo on my sack.
:D

Did you catch this part?

We would finally like to thank those kick-ass folks at ASUS for providing us with the GPUs on review today, and for producing the most excellent hardware we routinely stock our work and home machines with. Yeah, we're !!!!!!s, so what?
thank you for your impartiality.

you better put your "fill-in" in quotes, or someone might hastily mistake it for your own thoughts. I did, and I was ready to scorch your ass....until I read it again...a little more carefully. LOL now ;)

"Total smackdown for all but the mightiest. The high resolution, extreme detail, AA bandwidth requirements, and polygon count bring all but the 850 and 800 to their knees. Even then, the 800 bends well below the preferred average fps rate of 60, while the 850 just keeps chewing up polygons and spitting out completed, fully detailed scenes."

This has got to be a joke. He has to be just seeing if everybody's still awake, or trying to get hits for his site. There's no way this is real.

Even in the rare occasions where the 6800 beats the 9800 (guess he wanted to make it "semi" realistic) the 9800 is still above the 6800 in the graph. The 6800 gets 6 fps in 1600x1200 4xAA? Wow, that's surprising, considering my GT gets roughly 8 times that.

What a tool.

We got a reply.......

What should i do?

Go and hit them in the head some more?
Or be a complete ass and drill them into the ground?

finish him off.

If you want, I can do some testing with my 6800 Ultra SLI a64 machine with 2GB of mushkin. Let's see that 9800 pro beat that. :p

Alright i going to go smoke first....think of some finishing moves. And then bring you guys up to date :D

Oh the evil ploting being's.....

Wow at the people who think ATi paid someone to write this article.

Doesn't matter if ati paid them or not...it's misleading and falsified benchmarks.

It's nothing but pure !!!!!!ism
