best wireless mouse for gaming?

I just got a new wireless mosue/KB set, micro innovations, but the wireless mouse evidently is shitty, because it spins out when I move it fast. I guess i'm going to have to get a new mouse! Any reccomendations?? It has to be comfortable too. I'm right handed. Thanks alot
 
MX 1000? I've had mine for a year and 3-4 months now, not had a single problem or complaint with it.
 
MX1000 or G7, both are amazing.

I personally like MX1000 over G7, because it is more ergonomic imo and has more buttons, and the battery does not have to be switched out.
 
The G7. I used to own the MX1000 and I loved it too, but it can't hold a candle toward the G7 when it comes to gaming.
 
G7. I got it at the amazon deal a bit ago and I am in love with it. The loss of the one button is kind of a pain, but its easy to adjust for absolutely FLAWLESS wireless mouse performance. Not only does it not lag, but if you pick the mouse up and set it back down there is also no lag at all.

I prefer it to the MX1000 b/c if you forgot to charge that you were out of luck for over an hour, whereas with the G7 15 seconds of changing the battery and you're back in business.

considering how long the battery lasts (mine can last around a week, I think logitech says around 20 days of average use)... it's not hard to remember to charge it, especially when you see the battery level indicator turn red :)
 
G7... but its costly. I don't think I could pay that much for a mouse.

I dunno for sure what mine is, but its the one that its the Logitech Cordless Elite set (their $100 set)... so its a decent mouse, I know that much. I think its a 510 maybe, but I really don't know. It looks sorta like a Cordless Click! also.
 
MX700 FTW! Cheap, good battery life, wireless, and accurate...what more do you want?
 
The MX1000 is good on paper, but if you like to use the side triggers, keep in mind that there are lots of software issues with mapping keys to those buttons. It's something Logitech has supposedly been "fixing" for 5 driver releases, too. They like to stick when pressed in conjunction with another button or 2 keys. Check their messageboards and you'll see what I mean. This applies to some of their corded mice, too.
IMO I'd go with someone other than Logitech or maybe even just wait until something better comes out.
If insanely high dpi doesn't matter to you, MS makes some good ones. Keep in mind that even most of the pro gamers out there are using normal dpi mice for games like CS...so it's not going to make you a pro by getting a higher dpi mouse anyway.
 
G7 or MX1000
I have the MX1000 and it's AWESOME!
I use ever button on it, Minus the two stupid side scroll triggers by the mouse bally scroll thing (I can't remember the proper name, brain fart.???? )
 
My MX700 was an awesome mouse. Never any lag. Therefore, the mx1000 and G7 must be pretty darn good too, after all, the tech only gets better!

I've never had any problems binding actions/mapping keys to any of the buttons on my MX1000 or MX700.

I hate how people think they're better because of their high dpi mouse, or their top of the line CRT. I'll still kill them using my lcd and mouse that are not as fast...

you meen the mouse wheel? the wheel left/right click or do you mean the buttons that scroll up or down?
 
I'm sure the newer G7 and Mx1000 are great, but I have been pleased with my Mx700
 
another vote for the MX1000.

I think you should go to a store that has the MX1000 and a Logitech mouse with the same design of the G7 (G5, G7, MX518 etc...). See which shape is more comfortable to you and go with it. Either the G7 or MX1000 are probably the top two wireless mice you can get.

But yea G7 ownz, but the shells is slippery, and I dont like that. With the G5 cover on it, its the best mouse I have ever used!

Wireless mice in general just seem to be inferior and annoying compared to wired.
 
I think its dependant on the mouse. As you saw I owned both a G5 and G7. Which mouse do I game with? G7. What mouse did I have before the G5/G7? a 518 wired. What did I have before that? Razor diamondback wired, before that wired 510, before that? Wired crappy optical, and before that wired ball mouse.

I am new to wireless, but I will say the G7 is rock solid. No lag what so ever in comparison to all the other wired mice I have used. No snagging of wires, and I have 2 hot swapable batteries so I never have to worry about running out of power while gaming. Best darn mouse for the money period!

why MX310? unless you are left handed, I don't see why anyone would use that over a MX5xx or a G5.
And if you've had a negative experience with their wireless mice, it's probably interference or something.. if it is a defective mouse, you can call logitech and they will send a NEW boxed mouse (possibly an upgraded one) for free.

MX310 because it's a gimmick free, great mouse. Why spend more money? The MX310 works great for cheap.

Also, interference wasn't the issue. The issue is that wireless mice are too heavy, battery life is dismal if you use your computer for more than 3-4 hrs a day, they're overpriced and any benefits that I might have seen in them being wireless (which was very little since I sit at my desk to use my computer, and not across the room) were not enough to offset the batteries dying in the middle of a clan match or the hell it caused for my wrist (carpal tunnel) because it weighed so much.
 
I'd spend the extra money because MX5xx is more comfortable design, and more/better button placement.
 
no, there is a big difference. MX5xx is more ergonomic, it fits the hand better.

edit: hey, if you like MX310 better, good for you. Most people will agree that MX5xx style mice are more comfortable, and it is the reason why logitech has been using that design for their recent mice (aside from MX1000, which is IMO even more comfortable) and are making left handed versions, over the older design that can be used by left and right handed users.
 
Yeah seriously. You can tell by the pic alone that "practically" isn't quite the right term when you put your hands on it. MX700/Mx510 are close to G5/G7, slope might be different, that's all. MX310 fuhgetaboutit. The former are much more shaped to a right hand.
 
I've been using a MX700 for a while now and it has served me very well. I haven't had a reason to even consider getting a slightly newer mouse.
 
G7.... Plus you can get extra batteries from Logitech for $5 each.

G7. Having used the MX1000, and G7, I'd say the G7 is the best mouse. The MX1000 has a bad case of "junk in the trunk." It's just way too ass-heavy!

Though, I like the G5 best. It doesnt get all slimey after a long period of use like the G7, and the shoe-string style cord doesnt easily interfere.

Well if it does feel more comfortable, that's great, although I don't think the MX310 is uncomfortable by any stretch of the imagination. They're both pretty comfortable, and the MX310 is cheaper.

I'm not saying the MX310 is the greatest mouse evar. I'm just saying that it works great, its relatively comfortable, its cheap and its given me no problems. If someone feels inclined to spend more money on a mouse then I'm sure the MX500 series is a great step up. I don't think the wireless mice are worth the investment however. Call me a luddite if you like but for gaming or heavy use a wired mouse can't be beat. No batteries, ultra precise, and they don't feel like you're pushing around a brick.
 
I have both the G7, The MX1000, and the MX518. G7 is the best of the 3.
 
Sean, where do I order those packs? I can't find a place on the logtech online store for a SKU query. I'd like to stock up on a couple of those puppies just to be safe :)

By the way, the G7 rocks. I managed to get mine on an employee shop day for 40 bucks.
 
i currently have a MX1000. i love it, had it for a little over a year. it's a little on the heavy side but i've gotten use to it. i've tried the MX518 and to me the whole dpi thing is not working. i don't see the need to really have 1600dpi at all. but it is adjustable so i guess thats not a big deal.
