My mini-dachshund has taken to eating any wire that he can find with an end that isn't plugged into something. He ate a SATA cable I dropped on the floor last night and has torn the ends off 3 iphone chargers (I love monoprice) along with killing two sets of headphones.

I need a set of wireless headphones for playing BF3 and Diablo III along with whatever else shows up on steam deals. Price range is <300$ and it needs to have a mic boom. Extra points for a removable mic. There will also be very light music and movie watching.

Can you guys give me a starting point>?
 
I would strongly encourage you to get a dedicated pair of headphones and use an external mic. All the headsets I have auditioned have been subpar for the money.

For $300 you can get very good quality set of cans for $250, and spend the rest on a microphone. I would look into something like... a pair of Sennheiser HD598s, which may fit your bill as a good all rounder.

He was asking about wireless headsets, which the HD598's are not. Sennheiser makes some very solid wireless sets (I'd spring for one of the newer models that use Kleer), but at the end of the day you're usually overpaying a lot for the privilege (no wireless pair of headphones is gonna match the HD598's even at double the price imo). Frankly I don't think it's worth it unless your dog's just a living terror that will climb up on the desk and chew on a headphone wire that's carefully put away out of his reach. :p
 
Can't ever lose with Sennhesier , here ya go : Sennheiser RS 180 , currently $329 on Amazon. However no mic boom , frankly you won't find quality with a mic boom. The best with a mic boom are wired. So you've got to really weight that and consider something wired with an extension cable of some kind.
 
Even for wired headsets, it's generally a better bang for the buck to go w/a discrete mic anyway... If you really do wanna go wireless you could try a desktop mic tho.
