So I want a microphone for recording stuff and including it in my video editing.

Now I did research several years ago and came up with the JamMate UFO USB Phantom Microphone. I know because I ran across it in an old bookmark while searching for another bookmark.

I'm sure tech has improved since then and I even have a good audio card that I guess could handle more professional type microphones. I have the X-Fi Elite Pro, but my Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1 amp is broken and I have to figure out what is wrong with it so I might have to use a USB microphone and my laptop.

So I am looking for a USB microphone good enough for editing. Years ago, the above JamMate one would be an awesome choice, but what about now? Anything else come out since that mic was released that would be a better choice? I can probably spend ~$100 or less.
 
AT2020 USB variant with a cheap samson shock mount would probably be it. Would be a lither over 120usd with the shock mount, but I think it's worth it. Also get a pop filter, but you might already have one. And a better stand, but I think you might already have something similar, or an old camera tripod.
 
I don't have any real experience per say with high quality USB microphones, I personally use a Logitech USB mic which works great for Vent chat but lots of people seem to like the Blue Snowball mic for pod casting etc.

Third this option. Just bought six of these for our labs at work. Same quality as the XLR version of the mic, but without the other equipment requirements. Great build quality for the price, as well.
 
Wow, I think I cold get one of these. I Google shopped this (is that a phrase yet) and found it available for sub-$100 shipped and new. Thanks for the advice.
