I havent upgraded my PC since the E8400 was released and plan to start piecing together a new rig a little at a time. I dont have any specific parts in mind yet, this is more of a what should I get first thread. PC used mostly for gaming, some newer titles (will be playing BF4)

I'll probably be keeping my 7750 video card at least for a while as well as my antec p182b case.

Since I'll probably only be buying a part every few weeks this is what I'm thinking

CPU first, I'm not interested in "whatever CPU is coming out next quarter" I'm looking at whats out now. So whats available isnt going to change

Then RAM for same reason above, its not likely to change much

SSD and sata drives

Motherboard last since its most likely to change

I know the GPU is going to be a bottleneck, but its something I can get by with for a while.

It's rarely a good idea to buy parts over time as they might be DOA but you won't find out until after the seller return period expires. Or say you bought a part but while you were waiting for the rest of the parts, that one part goes on sale for a significantly lower price. You can see the problem with that. Or somehow you misplaced or improperly stored the other parts and they end up getting damaged.

So unless you know exactly what's a good hardware deal virtually every time and know how to dealhunt, it's best for you to just to save your money and buy everything in one go.

Thats also being considered....and probablly what will end up happening, at least the cpu ram and mobo. I can use my GPU and current HDD's to at least get a sytem up and running with those three components.

Then please come back when you have the money for the CPU, mobo, and RAM and bump up this thread then.
