I live in Brazil and i am looking to upgrade my 22"TN Acer 2216w.
The prymary use is gaming and online poker, so resolution and eye confort matters.
This monitor will be shipped by USPS to Brazil , so no open boxes, but a refurb with complete package could do it.
I don't need any fancy inputs like HDMI, component, S-video, any plain good DVI would do it; i can pass without HDCP and i don't mind response times, input lags below 40ms are enough and 1-2 dead pixels won't bother me ( my Acer has 1 and i still love it anyway) but i really need:
silence: no buzzing!
Maximum Eye confort.
Minimal factory defects: forget about hit or miss deals like Soyo 24"- i will have HUGE problems to change a defective unit

KDS 24"TN: i still think that TN 24"should have a sub $330 price tag, this one has no review so far...

Westy 24"...goes on sale for ~$400, less with rebate (but i don't benefit from rebates)...many reviews, i dont remember any complaints about factory defects on this screen, aside from input lag.

Super 28"TN from Hanns-G: goes above $ 500 but also very few, if any, defects :

i would love to find one of the 26" from acer that use a S-IPS panel, but it is really a lottery.
Some brave soul could find a korean online store with international shipping? korea has some S-IPS 1920x1200 displays below $ 500!
Or let's make a list of 24"-non-TN sub$500 LCDs!
