Best memory for a non-overclocking mobo

Hi guys,
My system is in my sig, and I was planning on getting 2x1GB sticks of RAM for my computer. Currently, I have 4x512MB and I've heard having 4 sticks can result in a hit in performance.

Since, I have a Dell, which is not easy/impossible to overclock, I wonder, what is the best memory? Dell's mobo or bios has also somehow screwed it up so that the highest frequency it supports is DDR-667 RAM even though it should be DDR-800. With that said, I know there is not much of a difference between 533 and 667 and it probably comes down to CL. But then, I cannot even see, nor adjust CL on a Dell mobo... so what memory should I get?

some nicer DDR-667 pqi's, but i won't be able to adjust cas latencies/voltages so I think the CL will end up being 5.

some low latency DDR-533 from G.skill

If you are not going to be overclocking, anything beyond 533 is overkill. If you are running at 1:1 CPU:memory ratio than at the stock 266 MHz FSB speed your natural memory speed is 533.

Not that you would ever notice, unless there is some compelling reason (4GB for Vista later) you are throwing money away.

You would be better off replacing the motherboard with a decent one you could have some control of (bios with more features) and reuse all your other existing hardware.

PS. I hope I am missing something here, unless that is the crappiest ram in the world, dont do it.

I've heard having 2x1GB is better than 4X512MB and I can easily sell my RAM. Also, I don't think its possible to replace my motherboard because I have a Dell case and a Dell PSU. I would have to rebuild my whole computer.
