Another vote for pfSense here. I've been using it on my own network for a while now and I've deployed it in a business environment as well. The trickiest part of pfSense is learning everything if the only experience you've had has been with consumer grade equipment. Once you learn it though it's VERY good.
The only gotcha I'll warn you about right up front is that you should try to avoid using Realtek NIC's unless you have absolutely no choice. Some Realtek based NIC's will give you nothing but grief. Do yourself a favor and pick up an Intel dual port server NIC on ebay for about $30; they work the best with pfSense.
