Best external housing with LAN interface?

Hi guys,

I just want to buy the best I can find with LAN interface so I can put my Barracuda 7200.9 500 GB ,any suggestios?
 
probably a 10 dollar computer from a garage sale, have more of a buffer and more processing power than any NAS housing would, just take a little more room up and configuration.
 
I'd also love to find a good enclosure with ethernet interface.

My requirements: Reasonably fast. Support raid1 (raid5 would be nice but not strictly necessary). Support NFS as well as SMB and windows domain permissions.

Anyone ? :)
 
If you're gonna want RAID then Patman's probably right, a small right is probably your best bet in the long-run.
