I have outgrown my 250 Gb Seagate Free Agent and need something large enough and reliable.
I am guessing something around 1 Tb should be enough?
I am running one 1 Tb drive which is set up as 2 drives...one solely for pictures and HD 1080p60 home videos.

My computer:
Processor: Intel i7-920
Motherboard: ASUS P6X58D-E
Memory: 6 Gb (3 x 2Gb) G.SKILL Trident DDR3 2000
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1 Tb
Video Card: XFX HD-5870 XXX Edition
Power Supply: Corsair HX Series 850HX 80 Plus Silver
Case: SilverStone Raven RV02
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate

I am a little tight on $$ because of Christmas approaching, so something that is very good quality/performance for the $$ spent is what I'm looking for.

Buy whatever 3.5" hard drive that trips your trigger and insert it in any 3.5" external disk enclosure and there ya have it.

If the drive is always going to be "on" get an enclosure with a fan.

When or if the drive/case breaks you can troubleshoot and return/replace individual parts without voiding the warranties.
