Looking for a good digital camera for my gf's brother for his website.. Looking for the best bang for buck under $300. I need help.

Canon powershot A95 best digicam under 300.
of course thats my opinion. and a few million other peeps./

i'd also recommend a canon... depending on what size etc you want... any canon around $300 is a very good camera

eh... the canon only has a 3x optical zoom. booooooring.

after my last experience with a canon digicam, well, i will never be buying one again.

More on the store shelf for me... and millions of other smart people around the world who agree that a Canon (A95) would be the best bet.

Sony DSC-W5, I heard great things about canon but the things are so damn slow I had to go with the sony. Picture quality is great and features are great.

I got mine brand new in box shipped for $250 off ebay.

Dell has sales once in awhile where you can snag one for liek $240 or so

1st digital --> free, logitech...crap
2nd digital --> free, largan chameleon mega...crap w/ flash
3rd digital --> $150, canon powershot a60, took this pic with it...

AMD1700.jpg

4th digital--> $175, canon powershot a75, more pixels, bigger screen

Now I'm drooling over the a95 with it's roaving lcd ;)

Another thing not always mentioned relates to the memory cards. The one I have now took compactflash and I opted for a sandisk ultra. The difference is huge when copying pictures through a good card reader. It's copied at about 7 megs via a sandisk firewire reader and 4 from a usb 2.0 internal.

sony dsc-w5 :) a w7 if you want to spring 50 more dollars for a 7 megapixel camera.

Not the ones I've used. I carry a tripod for that, hehe.

I should do that, but it isn't always convienent to use one.

Is there any sub-$350 camera with IS?

Another vote for Canon :D I've had an A70, A510 and now a Digital Rebel XT, and I have to say, Canon knows how to make a digicam...

S1 IS, sometimes you can get the S2 IS for under that if you look for a deal

It's my opinion as well. My Canon Powershot takes excellent pictures for it's price range I think.
