Best Current 1 to 2TB external drive?

Here's the deal: I'm deploying with the military for one year, and I'd like to pick up a decent 1 to 2TB external drive to drag my media around during that time. However, I like to plan ahead, so I really want a drive that will be the best to plug in as additional storage in my Home Theater when I get back home. I also don't want to go nuts and spend too much money...

So, with that in mind, what is the best external drive option at the moment for serving up media via USB, fw800, and eSATA 300?

Lacie, Western Digital, Apricorn, Verbatim, or some other?
