Best artifact test?

I'm currently running my 6800GT in a 3dMark2003 loop @ 440/1.18ghz(crossed fingers) and I'm wondering what is the best way to verify if there are artifacts present? I usually check the turtle's back during the nature demo,(seems to be more sensitive then progs like rthdribl) but is there a more sensitive program?

Also how do I know when the memory is too high? I know it causes "triangle errors" but how would this translate onto the screen?

EDIT: Dang, after 40 minutes the screen was a garbled rainbow. Time to lower the mem to see if thats the culprit:(

I am using a 6800 Ultra BIOS with watercooling, so that would explain it.

This is strange, I lower the memory clock and 3dmark only lasts 1/2 as long. The screen garbled up after 20 minutes instead of 40 this time.

I'm probably going to have to lower the core down to 435mhz, not bad at all but slightly dissapointing.

EDIT: For reference, my load temps are 54C full load after 30 mins. I didn't fully cover my RAM chips with AS5, I put enough to cover the majority of each memory chip in a circular pattern; now I don't think a very tiny uncovered part of the RAM chip would make the RAM too hot, but would the very slight temp difference be enough to allow a better OC of the memory?

My memory is rock solid at 1.14ghz and my 2nd run failed at 1.12 so I think this is more of a core limitation. Anyone know some good tips/tricks to get my core OC more stable?

Will ATITool work for NVidia cards? It has a nice built-in overclock utility that tests for artifacts while overclocking by comparing what a baseline image should be to what the card renders. Worked to help me get the max core/mem out of one of my 9800SEs.

If I recall ATI tool on nvidia cards is pretty hit and miss. Depending on the revision of the ATI tool, it may work, or it may report artifacts regardless of your clocks.
