Hey again, what are the [H]'s opinions on the best 2D fighter ever?? I would probably say SFA3 because of the tremendous variety in fighting styles plus a rather large character roster

I like Capcom VS SNK 2; it's got more characters than you can shake a stick at and the different Grooves add a little variety into the mix. I also like Last Blade 2 and the older KOF games.

Any of the Guilty Gears. I've been playing Guilty Gear XX Reload on my PSP lately and it's awesome.

2d = original Mortal Kombat - -spent countless hours playing this on Sega Genesis.
3d = FX Fighter

One of the games out of the MK series, can't pick which one though. I spent too many hours/dollars playing that series at the arcade and since it's all a blur I can't choose just one of the games. I think I spent more time on 2 and 3 though.

Time Killers....

hehe, j/k. my personal fav is SF3:Third Strike, 2nd fav Samurai Showdown 1&2, and then its Capcom vs. SNK 2.

and for the sake of tossing another title for shits and giggles.... Metal and Lace.

Guilty Gear FTW!!!

Capcom vs SNK series is sure close.

So hard to decide...I am going to have to give a tie to Street Fighter II Turbo and Mortal Kombat 2 for the arcade.

In any given order:

King of Fighters 98': Slugfest
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Garou: Mark of the Wolves (Best Terry & Rock ever)
Mortal Kombat II (revision 1.3)
Capcom vs. SNK 2

Capcom v.s. Snk2
SF3

I still don't understand how some people can get so good at the game

Street Fighter 2 for SNES. That's only 'cause I was hopelessly addicted to it and played it 'til my thumbs bled. (literally, I ain't kiddin')

I am not a certified game reviewer. :D

Heh SF2 is fun for sure (especially 10-star). However, MvC is pretty good as well:

My poor cuz bought a dreamcast, and MvC was probably its saving grace, hah! We had the arcade joysticks too =D.

Ha, I choose Super Smash Bros. :p Goddamn that game is fun. So many things to unlock, and trophies to collect, mmmmm...

hhaa yeah.... i rented it when it came out... haha wow... all i can say is wow... and not a good wow...

Marvel versus Capcom 2 for me too, I spent way too much time in college playing that game.

So many to choose from. Samurai Showdown II, Mortal Kombat II, Street Fighter Third Strike, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3...but I would have to say King of Fighters 94.

super street fighter 2 turbo.

and it warms my heart that nobody said that pile of crap called eternal champions lol

Street Fighter Alpha 3, but I still love the original Street Fighter 2.
