BenQ GW2760HS

Yes, but I was hoping things have changed. Why the hell would you not release this in the States?

Looking the pictures in the first post i see alot of stripes on the image..
I dont know if its just the camera - hopefully.
I saw something similar some other pics of it too. Seems like whites have some banding in them. Again i dont know if its just the camera, compression, or image quality of whats being shown on the screen.

Monitor is available in Germany here
It's not availability, it's just pre-order. What they say in my order status is "expected to come in stock on approx. 25.03.2013 (Current non-binding information of our supplier)". Non-binding, got it?

Thats Russia. Wonder if they ship worldwide.
No, that's Germany, but they have a CIS-oriented website, which is in the .ru domain. Their main website is in the .net domain. They do ship internationally.

I've already ordered the monitor.

Oh, sorry for the link in russian domain, did't noticed that :( That's a preorder, yes. But that's better than nothing. Computeruniverse is one of the few webshops that ships to Russia, so it's very popular here.

Hmm looks like its 40€ cheaper on the .ru website

edit: nvm its about the same now. I think it was taxes added on one price before.

Until they have it in stock it's exactly equal to nothing. Unless you count "hope" as something substantial.

It's VAT, which all EU residents have to pay.

Some news. It states that monitor will be available in April and it will be priced at 269 euros

It seems all the German webshops are so, well, GERMAN. Not only did Computeruniverse blow the "expected to come in stock" date (who would have thought otherwise?), they also ignored all my emails to their support to explain why the monitor's status on its product page suddenly changed to "ready for shipping in 1-2 days" on the same date.

It looked as if they did receive the monitor, but sold it to someone else, despite my two-and-a-half weeks old pre-order. Or maybe they just fouled up their website and then corrected after I notified them.

Is there any other country in the world where online customers are treated so badly?

Computeruniverse finally replied, telling that one of their suppliers announced that they might be able to deliver sooner. I suppose this is meant to serve as the explanation of the short-lived status change on the product page.

Well, as anyone can see, the product status at Computeruniverse is, since yesterday, "Product ready for shipping in 1-2 days". Again.

And my order is showing no sings of fulfillment. Again.

I asked their support to explain the contradiction. Again.

And today received a reply that, basically, says they don't really know why the situation persists, status is changed automatically, and if there's a mistake, correction can only be made on business days.

The moral of the story is, anyone who's going to claim the availability of this monitor (or anything else) based on a link from a German online scammer, sorry, merchant, has a good chance of getting a visit from me and my lead pipe. :(

Cute girls, cake and an ophthalmologist with several in depth slides about computer vision syndrome. All for one computer monitor model. And US reps for Benq does not want to get into that marketing action? They be mad fools.

I seems that BenQ are either a bunch of idiots or a bunch of cheaters. The monitor is selling in China since January, now it's April and rather than release in EU, US or anywhere else, they're creating adverts about how good it is, like this one.

Either they're completely inept or think that the monitor isn't good enough to sell well for its own merits and working to create a buying frenzy when they do release it in the other countries... Which will not be anytime soon, I'm afraid. The next "expected" date at Computeruniverse is 12.04.2013, but it will almost certainly be blown just like the previous one, because, as far as my other contact tells me, none of the EU suppliers received this monitor yet and none knows when it's gonna happen.

Only thing that started to worry me aboout this monitor now is the PPI. After trying ipad 4 (even) my current computer monitor looked so bad and pixelated ;S

Don't worry, I will not reply to insults.

I contacted one of the stores listed. They have assured me that I can have the monitor on my desk in 5-7 working days.
Obviously, no guarantee they would honor the promise, but I selected a store with a quite high percentage of positive reviews.
Don't worry, I'm nobody's fool. It's strange that you don't say which store you contacted, but, since all but one say in plain language that the monitor is not available, it must be MISCO. Just one of those not so positive reviews about them is below.
Pregi: nessuno
Difetti: disinformazione
Oh, BTW, what was the reason to use such wording as "I selected a store with a quite high percentage of positive reviews", while is fact there was only one that said the monitor was available? Sounds like you're really desperate to prove your point for whatever reason. Well, if you really want to, buy the monitor and when you receive it, put in on eBay. I promise to buy it, but even if I don't, someone else certainly will, judging by this thread alone they're in a high demand now.

But preorder :\
In other words nothing.

The next "expected" date at Computeruniverse is 29.04.2013. The first one was 25.03, the second 12.04. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that when (I mean if) the current one is blown, the next one will be 16.05.2013 :D I find it kind of hard to believe that their suppliers expect a load of these monitors to arrive every 17 days (from Santa Claus, apparently) and are honestly surprised when they don't get it, which is the only scenario that could possibly be consistent with the changes on their website... apart from their trying to secure the funds of those who choose to believe them until the monitor finally gets the long-awaited release in the EU.

Well, let German fraudsters be German fraudsters, but I have information from a more reliable source that points to even earlier possible availability in Europe, namely around 19.04. I don't belive it holds, but thought I should mention it.

BenQ did say not to expect availability until April, which means they have all of April to be able to do that. Patience is a virtue.

Fotodigit appeared on trovaprezzi 4-12-2013, when I called.

However, B-2Admirer, you were absolutely right, while I was absolutely wrong. You are doing a valuable service, fighting fools and misinformation spreaders.

Please, accept my apologies.

If it was "several places" that reported it, then don't put their gossip into the mouth of BenQ, OK?

Besides, perhaps it would be wise to delete those links, because, as I mentioned before, one of the users here seemed to get banned for referring to the first of those websites. And BTW, as I, too, mentioned before, that website initially claimed late February or early March availability, which gives you a good idea about the value of the info published there.

What was really claimed by BenQ is that the monitor was going to start selling in China/Taiwan in January, debuting globally shortly thereafter. Apparently, they mesaure time on a geological scale at BenQ.

I'll keep this simple - you guys can debate the facts all you want, but when the insults turn personal, folks get vacations or permabanned as required to make the point. This is the first rule on the list of rules you agreed to when you registered....no big surprise here. Back on topic, please.....

Thank You!:p

Ok, I'm tired to wait. I'll go eventually for Eizo EW2436, in spite of its coating.
Regarding the matters of flamewar, I certainly share the wise words of moderator, but to be honest one time more, the wrath of the mighty B-2Admirer probably prevented me from doing a mistake: actually on monday I was gonna order the Benq monitor from fotodigit, probably starting some wait-call-wait-refund boring procedure..

Sorry to ask this but whats the difference between this monitor and GW2760HM? Thanks
