most of the time it doesnt but sometimes when i load a certain webpage or game that displays a certain color it'll do it. like this https://endoftheinter.net/

ill see it flicker like little lines of it flickering really fast....it looks like the whole background is moving

its not too bad but its kinda annoying. is my monitor defective or do they all do that or is it my eyes haha...maybe a videocard prob? i have a ati 4870. its been flickering ever since i got it. prob almost a year now....its not too bothersome but i thought i would post about it.

any ideas?

Well, I always noticed mine appeared to be flickering or something like that.

I figured in the end that it was my "visual snow", but now that you say you have a similar problem, I'm not sure.

My guess is its dithering.

hmm at first 2a and 4a were flickering. if i move down some it stops and now 2b and 4b do it. hmm??? it seems to be strong for the whole screen

something wrong, anything i can do?

Nothing you can do.

I only have two screens that don't do some sort of flicker on those tests: Dell 2005FPW and my LG 37LB5D TV. All other screens show flicker on one of the 2A, 2B, 4A, 4B tests.

TN based screens sometimes show a bit more flicker due to something called HiFRC. FRC stands for frame rate control. This is when a screen flashes four colors in quick succession within a pixel to "approximate" another color. The reason they do this is because they are only capable of producing 18-bit color, or 6-bits per red, green, blue so they do this to approximate up to 24-bit color.

The BenQ is usually pretty good in this regard, but sometimes it may produce a slight extra flicker effect. This is typical of most recently produced TN displays.
