Do people ever just cool the CPU alone? Most systems i've seen usually cool the NB,vid card, and CPU. or NB and CPU, or just Vid card and CPU.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that kronchev just cools his CPU. I'm going to be selling my northbridge block pretty soon and just cooling my cpu as well. :)

Yes, I do. I'd say a large portion of people only cool the CPU.

Tons of people cool only their CPU. It is the most crucial thing to watercool. I started with a CPU only watercooling setup and I'm now expanding it to my videocard and northbridge. It all depends on your needs.

i only cool my cpu, i never thought about doing anything more. maybe once i upgrade to a new mobo and vid card i might consider it but probably not. i dont mind noise too much but a lot just isnt acceptable, which is why i went watercooling in the first place.

if anybody remembers the FOP38, that is the reason why i switch to h2o cooling

I still have the FOP38. Actually, I got the FOP32-1 but just added a Delta on later to make it into a FOP38. The clip to attach it to the socket ended up breaking so the heatsink is just sitting around right now. At one time I used a clip from a heatsink for an old Pentium and slapped it on the K6-2 I had for a while. Kept the processor nice and cool. Good thing too since one time I forgot to plug in the fan for the heatsink. Ended up locking up the machine but nothing was damaged.

Oh yeah, I only cool my CPU also. Not worth watercooling a Radeon 8500 at this point. Also, chipset coolers have a tendancy to be really restrictive on flow and I doubt one would help me much more than just putting a fan on the chipset heatsink.
