I like the map that has all the blown up buildings that your climb thru to find the enemy... I thought that was an innovative map....

Played the BF1924 DC mod until I could not find servers any more. BC2 was a great game as well. BF4 I think might be the last of the franchise that was any good.

They made these changes to TTK because casual players got the impression they were getting pasted too fast... more likely due to a fucked up TTD. Unlike previous BF's where it was generally undrstood you were getting your ass handed to you because the kid who ground out the unlocks for the better weapon and attachments was wasting you more often.

Now in addition to having to grind out the rounds to have access to all the class the weapons you need to set up the specialty tree as well. Not to mention that the UI is not horribly clear for a casual gamer... I still think it's an unorganized clusterfuck and I'm probably 140+hrs into this game.

They want to make the game better for casuals just turn it into the original Counterstrike. You start each round with access to the exact same guns as everyone else on your faction... there are only 5 choices and there are no upgrades. Then try to remind your core players why they should play any BF game instead of CS.

IMO hiding better vehicle upgrades and guns behind a progression tree is stupid for a game that costs money. For a F2P game it's fine, but not here.

The UI is reflective of the game itself: no one stopped and wondered why the fuck they designed it that way
because the excessive clicking was how DICE was able to hide load times on the console, but of course we obviously need that on PC too because all our computers suck compared to consoles. :p

and then i realized i basically just said the same crap as brennok with twice as many words.. :(

Just an FYI, EA isn't offering a refund for Premier. I bought the full version of the game and cancelled Premier last night. The system cancelled it effective in 11ish months, a year since I purchased it. I hit up support and had them cancel it immediately, which they did, but then said they couldn't prorate the difference. I filed a dispute with Paypal, so we'll see...

You may lose all your origin products in that case. I believe if you have a credit card dispute they close your account.

Other bf games have done.this. no one had problems with it back in older games.

I havn't customized the tanks but I've been going like 25-3 on panzerstorm with the far left tank. I forget which side but the other team's far left tank isn't as good, it probably does more dmg but the main cannon range is way shorter. slower projectile and reload speed. I hope they do some more tank maps. el alamein remake plz

I feel like BF has always been the opposite of CSGO but the same genre. Instead of being a competitive small arena shooter It's meant to be a large map large scale competitive shooter. If EA wants to save it's user base and differentiate itself from COD it needs to knock it off with this "Experience" and "Journey" bullshit. Knock it off with this gradual DLC and subscription shit. Knock it off with the convoluted progress, customization and micro C money or whatever the fuck it is. Make more fucking maps, open user managed servers back up and focus on balancing weapons classes and maps. As much as I'm "Mildly" enjoying BFV this direction EA is going is a losing fucking battle.

if they want to generate some good press for this game and bring players that played 1942 back cause I'm sure some are on the fence on buying they should remake some of the 1942 maps.

finished the stg assignments tonight. all gold plated. the last assignment was kill 10 enemies while attacking objectives in 1 life, or kill 20 enemies while attacking objectives in 1 round. I ended up doing the 20 in one round and got the last kill with about 20 tickets left. best map to do these assignments was rotterdam

^^^ Grats.. I lubbs me some gold plated weps as well. I'm wrapping up the last for the Melling... did the 20 kill in objective area with it last night. I think there is one more for the receiver.

IMHO the aslt weapons (and class as a whole) is way OP. The STG is just about as close to an IWIN button as you could ever wish for or the M1A1 if that is your style. Massive damage.. nearly no recoil hipfire and accurate as hell ranged first shot. You can literally just tap out 2 rnds at scope glint ranged... 1 almost always hits. If they do not tone down the aslt class eventually everyone will be playing it. No other class comes close. best weapons.. 2 rpg's.. 2 rifle launched frag nades and a nade of your choosing. No clue why they decided to give that class the rpg this time around. Think I'm lvl 19 aslt and I dont really care much for it... literally just running into gunfights and hold the mouse button till the target drops wins 1/2 the encounters where by any logic I should be dead as a box of hammers 90% of the time. If I play carefully my k/d ratio improves dramatically.

With the Melling you really need to be close.. and I mean stupid close.. to get a kill. If your target is more than say 20 feet away you will most likely not get a kill with both barrels.. If anything it's right where it needs to be or needs a slight bump. With the low shot count and long ass barrel you should be able to kill much further away. None of the shotties are as good as they were in BF4. Play with the Melling for a few days and then grab the STG again.. I think you'll get my point. It's like... wholly sh33t.. ive gotten 1 shot with one of those shot guns from kinda far. they have sniper rounds for it I think? I only have the first two support guns so I cant try it out yet.

Played last night. Game feels smoother. Still don't understand why we can't have private servers. Tired of the map rotations.

Is it me...or is this game more "broke" then it launched? Glad to see the TTK changes rolled back...but noticing way more issues now.
  • Footstep audio is completely non existent. Getting tired of people sneaking up on me and not hearing anything.
  • Hit detection is not accurate. Says im getting hit from behind...the person is on my left. Says im getting hit from straight ahead...the person is behind me
  • Game randomly stutters and pauses now. Didnt have this issue until this week
  • Player tags are reversed at times. Had a round where people were shooting anything that moves as we didn't know if they were friendly or enemy and if you spent to much time looking at the uniform, you would be dead.
I was trying to give the game the benefit of the doubt when it launched, but struggling at this point.

I was trying to give the game the benefit of the doubt when it launched, but struggling at this point.
1. check your output configuration and sound preset in the audio settings. I dont have issues with foot steps but I also dont stay put often. I knew someone was coming around the corner the other day.
2. I think this is buggy, but also hard to know for sure because multiple people can be shooting at you.
3. always had this issue, doesn't happen too often for me. like twice a round
4. I havn't had that issue with 70 hours played, I think bf1 had it at one point.

the january update hopefully will help things.

some of these assignments are impossible unless you're pro. m1a1 headshot kill 4 enemies in one life in a objective area or 10 in one round. that not even the hard one for the m1. I watched shroud have to headshot kill 20. barely got it.

Tried the new shotgun they added. Does DICE even test for balance? Yeah we know that answer is probably a flat out no, but it is still amusing to them these amateurs try and make a game. Lets see what is wrong with this. A primary weapon that:

- Does less damage than your side arm
- Has less ammo
- Takes longer to reload
- Has a slower rate of fire
- Much less accurate
- Has an effective range of maybe 50 feet

Why bother using it? You'll be much more effective if you use your 9mm P38.

Same deal with the sniper rifles. 1 shot kills, yet a semi auto with the same cartridge takes 5 body shots. You can put three rounds into the chest of a sniper and have them calmly put a single round through you as they're being shot and instantly kill you. No wonder half the team plays as a sniper. Its a class designed for absolute noobs who just want to win the game with a bunch of handicaps.

And herein lies the problem with games as a service and "free" updates. The quality control is even worse than it was in the past. They need to remove the shotgun and re-add it when it is balanced. The game has very little content, I get that, but they need to fucking test before releasing more garbage content.

On the other hand, the double barrel shotgun can 1 shot you from three times the range with almost 100% accuracy. Move aside semi auto rifles, we have something that out ranges & out damages you. Nothing wrong with that.

Whoever approved of this update needs to stand 10 feet in front of a Trench Gun while someone unloads the magazine into them to get the point across. Their replacement can balance the shotgun for them and make it worth using in game.

He must be using the slugs. Watching the part at around 1:30 and that is impossible for me with the buckshot. That range would net me around 5-8 damage. I've shot all 5 shots into someone at around that range only to do around 60-70. Switched to my pistol and was immediately doing better. Perhaps they need to fix the buckshot then... hell, just make the unlocks work like BF3/4. It is dumb to have to pick a path and then have to exit to the main menu if you want to change it. In BC2, BF3 & 4 we could change the accessories on the fly. I still can't figure out how they let the UI system into the game.

Runs worse than BF1 currently on my pc. I was getting about 100fps. Now it's 60-70 avrg. Same settings. No idea except the last patch really sent performance in the shitter.
