You need to have some vet level and be subscribed on EA newsletter.

Man now we have to install this origin client crap. Like I want one more steam running in my taskbar hogging 100mb of ram. Ram is cheap now, but its the essence.

I installed Origin a few days ago, and it's quite streamlined and lightweight. Looks like it will be giving Steam a run for its money, especially when it matures. I believe they're off to a good start. One thing also stood out was live chat support right within the client.

I don't think veteran level matters anymore (if it ever did, same as newsletter). I am veteran level 1. Even though I've played everything since BF2, the only thing I registered was BC2. My EA account has been active since 09', so not sure if that matters (pre-BC2). Just make sure your EA account's email is verified, you're at least a veteran, and you've subbed the newsletter. That's all I did.

Your EA account should be automagically merged with Origin so you can just use that login info.

Also, please everyone stop downloading the alpha so mine can download faster!! *mad* jk

That is your Origin account, as in, you can use that for Origin - just login like you would on EA.com.
